5 the series. When I first installed the rudder it didn't have much effect - as it is mounted ahead of the props in the stock model and only really acts as a slight trim. Mounting the rudder behind the propellers completely transforms the running characteristics of the boat. In this configuration it is better at speed with the ESC mix tuned off - ie both props driving at the same speed all of the time. High speed cornering is much improved, without such a tendency for the outside driving prop to lift out of the water and totally loose traction. For low speed manoeuvring the mix turned on is great. Having proportional control of the ESCs (speed controllers) make the boat much more pleasant to operate and is more forest pond friendly, where I might want to just run it slowly if there are a lot of ducks etc on the water or just want that slow scale experience. For a £40 toy, with modifications not costing much more than the same again, I think that this is pretty good value. I have lots of boats, some quite expensive, but this one was satisfying and relatively inexpensive to modify, light enough to carry, big enough to be impressive and pleasant to operate.
