I feel like ur the master of goldfishes. Usually goldfishes are difficult to maintain since they eat lot and produce a lots of waste . But u manage them in right way
I also have my ranchu's on a tub container because it's easier for me to buy and carry home than buying a heavy glass aquarium tank and also plastic tub is quite cheaper than aquarium tank, the down side is since it's plastic the side is blur so I can only have a good view of my fish from above.
I just went through a winter storm with over 3 days of black out. No power no heat and now one of my ranchu just completely lost an eye and unable to swim normally. Her rear end kept floating up. I feel so sad but can't find a vet for her. What can I do? :((
Hi, your video inspired me a lot to pet goldfish cuz they are so cute!. There are many source says that having decoration include sand and rock is not recomend (for newbie?) but watching your aquriam make me feel like, yeah my fish will need that kind of environment. So can you show us how to clean tank with smallrock with all information include, water change amont and period, fillter type amd media for this setup. I don’t know what media they use, it seems to be a canister filter which can be quite pricey. If you are beginning with goldfish then it isn’t recommended that you start with Ranchus because they are a lot more susceptible to diseases. However, if you do a lot of research and stock up proper medicines before hand then you should be okay. In older videos they said they change 40-60% of the water per week, and I’d assume that you just scrub down rocks and use a vacuum for sand. The reason why they say to be cautious about rocks and other substrates is because they tend to be sharp and fancy goldfish (especially ranchus) are very chubby and fragile. You also have to be careful with dirts and sands because Ranchus are diggers and will spread the sands and dirts everywhere. Just be sure to get smooth stones and decor :)
Couple of questions: 1) Why is it not recommended to put a lot of objects in a new tank at the same time? 2) I thought you have to let a tank cycle for at least weeks? 3) I have a barebottom tank for my 2 ranchus and 1 ryukin. Should I add substrate so it mimics their natural habitat? I want my goldfishes to be happy
1)algal formation enhances faster because of lot of objects .Also gold fish does not like too much object in the tank 2)Beacuse the filter already has bio stone Nitrogen cycle takes place in two to three days 3)Natural planted aquarium is not recommended for gold fish Beacuse it produces lot of waste and it will become hard to clean and also gold fish does not like too much of object in the tank
@@AQUATALKS Thanks for that, but #3 I'm a little confused. How will substrate be "too much object" . I'm thinking of putting sand or fine gravel in my barebottom tank
@@mellymoko4617 Ok I didn't meant the sand I told other plants and stuff you put in your substrate gold fish will eat those plants and if you use mud mixed with vermi compost isn't recommended because gold fish will mix and mess up all the thing you set in your tank White sand and gravel without and object is recommended
