I installed a Samsung 980 Evo Plus 2TB and it's just flying. Quite an upgrade from the built-in 512GB drive. I did not upgrade to 64GB of memory, though. That is quite too much for me! In short, don't hesitate to upgrade the storage or the memory if you want to. EDIT: I should also mention that I installed Windows from scratch on the new drive (Windows 10 - screw 11 for now). Now I have a lot less bloat to deal with.
Yes, I bought the RAM that is listed in my descriptions. It is 2666Mhz and it works. The default Ram speed that comes with the XPS17 is 3200Mhz therefore, my max speed will be 2666Mhz.
