Completely forgot to mention 2 things: 1) It supports both Windows and Mac. You can toggle between both modes with a keyboard shortcut. 2) The Rudy keycaps are doubleshot PBT.
Super underrated channel. This is my first time ever modding a keyboard and all of the tutorials were using sound dampening mats, but its too expensive for me. This is much more budget friendly and it sounds really good. Its also well produced. Thank you!
I want to mod rk61 but I never modded a keyboard before do u recommend any 60% keyboard which sound really good modded and is budget friendly? if it is the rk61 do u recommend I do it
That's a lot in the box, what a deal! I got an older nonhotswap one though. Still, I'm always recommending RK to anyone though I wonder if you have any idea with the other models getting updated specs?
It really is an outstanding deal! I'm not too sure regarding the other RK models, so I can't give you a definite answer. But from what I've seen online, most of them have been updated. The RK61 seems to be the last one to the party.
You forgot to say that it's not programmable, thus you have to use external tools to mod the function layer. In my opinion that's the only con. Keycaps and overloobed stabilizers are non-factor.
Hi, I just have some questions about the foam. So I have been hearing if you do the tape and foam mod it will cause a fire since the battery is lithium?
won't it burn? because there is a battery, then there is foam and tape below the pcb. I'm also using Rk61, but it hasn't been modded yet. I'm scared because I don't know what to do with the battery. I hope you can help me bro
@@jeoq You can see the battery at 2:42. I'm not sure if there's a wired-only RK61, or if that has a battery. I'd recommend getting one of the 3-mode models like this one. You have the option of using it wired, wireless, or through BT.
why no one takes the black version? Am I the only one who finds it beautiful? And is it normal that the azerty version on Amazon is more expensive? Ps :nice video !
Is there like a newer one because Im looking on Amazon apparently there's a wired version nothing about bluetooth but the charger is on the left side and it's rgb
@@HarvindG is this spec written on the new version's box? I bought mine around 2018 (nonhotswap) and I can't find the polling rate spec anywhere. PS. Sorry to hijack this comment. Great video btw! Got me pulling my old RK61 for some easy modding.
@@agoogleuser9025 I remember reading that somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it. Definitely not listed in the box or documentation, so I might take this with a pinch of salt. Glad you enjoyed the review - happy modding!
is there a different lube for stabs? im confused can i use the lube (for switch) on stabilizers? some people use lube on switch and use some kind of lube called grease on stabs
Great question, it does get confusing. You can use the same lube for switch and stabilizer housings (Krytox 205G0), but NOT for stabilizer wires and switch springs. Here's generally what you should go with. *Switch housing:* Krytox 205G0 *Switch springs:* Krytox 105 *Stabilizer housing:* Krytox 205G0 *Stabilizer wire:* Dielectric grease
@@BakedConjurer5 Although not recommended, you can use it if that's the only lube you have. For the stabilizer wires, you'll need to relube them more often, as Krytox 205G0 is thinner than dielectric grease and will be easily displaced by the constant movement of the stabilizer wire. For switch springs, use a (very) tiny amount and bag lube them.
Hey nice video! I just had one question, you mentioned to be mindful about what switches you use because the pcb isn’t “facing” does that mean not all type of switches would fit?
The PCB is north facing, meaning the LEDs are on top and the switches need to be mounted that way. With north facing PCBs, using cherry profile keycaps causes interference on the R2 and R3 rows. The edge of the keycaps hit the body of the switch before being fully depressed. It’s a minor thing that makes the sound of the keys on those rows slightly different. you won’t notice it unless you’re looking out for it.
