Uphill Electric Skateboard Race - Bakersfield Outlaw 2021 - Lacroix Nazare - Eskate - ESK8 - 47 MPH 

I ride an Evolve GTR and this is like watching the Formula 1 of esk8. Extremely cool and yes the hobby is advancing very quickly.

I used to dream about being able to do this stuff. It's a fascinating time for electric transportation

Yeah. That can happen to anyone, on any board, no matter the experience level. I'm seeing too may people crash and ending up with major injuries and hospital bills. He walked away from it, most don't.

It has more to do with my board having rear steering. Those race boards have nearly no rear steering so rear speed wobbles don't exist for them, allowing them to comfortably tuck. I need to use my legs as absorbers in the instance of speed wobbles.

@@wiggpickle I always found it more stable on basic longboards to go speed stance even with a loose rear truck but having power come from those wheels is totally different. Like I said man, impressive you’re running those speeds with that setup and your stance, must be an insane machine to ride!

Thank you. Yeah, riding a Lacroix is significantly different than a Stooge board in all aspects. Those boards make roughly twice the power of my board, hence their acceleration. Their top speed was electronically limited in this race to low 40's. I didn't let off. What happened was my board started thermal throttling, reducing the current to save the electronics from overheating.

@@wiggpickle seems like the main limit you're running into is thermal, have you considered using a larger heatsink or perhaps adding a large thermal mass onto the heatsink and pre-cooling it before races to give you a bit more time before you hit that limit?

Exactly the issue. This board is made of old tech (12s, Sanyo 20700b cells, focbox) so I don't plan on doing much more to it. The new SS boards (18s, p42 cells, Stormcore) control heat much better while providing more power. Check out my latest video on the SS Naz. I thermal throttled it too, but with much better results.

@@wiggpickle gotcha, you should totally consider adding a small heatsink or maybe even just a ram air scoop underneath to force air up against the metal heatsink plate already there - it should pretty much eliminate thermal throttling even for the roughest riding.

Nope. Sanyo pack and Focbox. Yeah dude I wish I had upped the thermal limits to finish 2nd, but I'll be back with something better. This is just the beginning
