FINALLY! Tufting that's within my ability level!! I've got two beautiful "crate" style benches at the end of my ten foot bed. I've wanted to make tufted cushions for them for *years.* I've started, screwed up, and abandoned attempt after attempt. THIS is the one that'll work.

Used this step by step guide to create a headboard with extra curtain material I had from my curtains. It was easy to do and the green velvet looks great, made in an afternoon. The only problems was the covered buttons; the material was too thick so I bought some shiny pearl-effect one but had to cut the shanks off. (Still trying to get the superglue off my fingers!) Never done anything like this before and as at 65 I am dead chuffed with the result. Thank you.

Some helpful advice!! My husband and I just made our tufted headboard, and he had a genius idea for hammering the nails! To avoid hitting your fingers and to ensure the nail stays straight I would line the nail up, he would place a double sided hammer on the nail after putting it straight down, then hit that hammer with another hammer and it was MUCH faster! I knew I kept him around for something 😂
