Born To Produce was founded by professional music producers Jay Hales & Jon Merritt with the aim of providing super usable and informative tutorial videos, that they never had access to when they were climbing the music production ropes. The entire aim is to boil complex topics down into easy to understand and easy to repeat, bitesize steps, so that everyone who wants to can discover the utter pleasure of music production. In a modern sequencer you can simply fold the piano roll to the scale and that's it.

hi, a question: Why did you build the first melody. Is it for the intro? Because you build an other main melody afterwards. So now i dont know for what is the Melody in 16notes and after you built a second one in 8th notes. Thanks. Great vidoe! Maybe I want buy your tutorial soon.

@@Borntoproduce As a Dj during that time, the end of the 90s was really special, Vincent De Moor, Airwave, Moonman(Ferry Corsten), Push/M.I.K.E., Airscape (Svenson & Gielen), Matt Darey, Armin Van Buuren, Cor Fijneman, Tiesto, Marco V, Dumonde, Mauro Picotto, Signum and so on...best time of my life, it all kind of fell apart though 2004+ hard to find records that were top notch and I stopped Djing because of that everything started to get too hard again like the mid 90s. I did however come bk 2013 - 14 and it wasn't a good experience at all, CD decks were simple but the sound wasn't there, not enough depth, the soul doesn't lie from the vibrations from the speakers, as you will probably know it's all magnetism, electromagnetism/electrostatics, recorded in a way even air pressure made a difference, real life Analogue and playback using magnets etc., so yeah just sounded not as good to me, something missing... I played Dirty Dutch instead of Trance, big room heavy beats and drops around then and it was "ok", breakdowns were crap like someone bashing anything out on the keyboard lol, but yeah still no atmosphere and people had changed..a lot!, Djs bitching and backstabbing, to get top spot and make a "name" for themselves, I mean I was there for the money and had a history with the promoter so my spot was sealed and it wasn't a popularity contest for me like it was for the younger guys, no respect for me even though I was technically "old school", but yeah the crap other Djs used to do was unreal to try grab the limelight, I didn't get it, not like in the 90s, early 00s we all helped one another, the love and understanding was there and we knew it was a special time for all and we played to the crowds, we were respectful of each others craft because it was far more difficult using the Technics 1210s setup, than the Pioneer Cjds that were just...yeah I dont know if you've tried them, but not much skill involved unfortunately, simple beatmatching, then just stand like an idiot while the "machine" especially 2000s model, does all the work lol, so yep left after a year nowhere near as gd as the past the whole "feel" was gone, sad really the young'ns just now don't know what they are missing and with guys like you still about(The grey beard is a giveaway lol) that could easily be pressing some viynl to put out there, the scene could be great, but gota get rid of those phones first lol oh man the phones in your face smile for the camera every 2s done my nut in, as the Dj box was low in the last place I was resident, crap really, in the 90s most Dj boxes were high up, but I guess it's club depending that can easily be changed and I think a lot of the clubs are still similar inside, but the old underground clubs are mostly gone now, well where I am anyway...it's really sad. Anyway...jeez sorry I've just rattled off there, must be getting old lol Again all the best, keep it going, great stuff! 👍

When you said at 7:56 "Let's just just open up the filters", what exactly were you doing there? I'm following along in FL Studio, so maybe I'm not understanding due to the difference of my DAW, but I was wondering if I could do a similar thing in FLS.
@Borntoproduce
@Borntoproduce Год назад
Hey Luke, opening the filter means letting more low or high (depending on what filter/eq (low or high cut) settings you use) frequencies through. For example, if you open up a high cut filter you would be letting more high frequencies. Hope that helps

Hi, have one question. Are the sounds in fl studio diffrent to the sounds in the video? Think the presets in the video are changed. (Lead Presets)

I'm following this tutorial. In a couple of places Demis opens up filters, but I;m not sure how he does this. Help please?

He maps his midi controller (maybe modulation dial) to the Macros on the left side of Vital

Great video. Prob a stupid question but can you please explain what filters you are adjusting at 7.56 ?
@jamppa4693
@jamppa4693 Год назад
In this case its a low pass filter. It cuts away the high frequencies of the sound. When he opens it up gradually its starting to play the higher frequencies of the sound.

Not sure, I don't recall removing any comments. Normally I would block any spam links, but if it was a link to your own track then I would have left it up. Not sure if RU-vid removed it though, it did not inform us if it did. Feel free to try and post it again :)

Basic Vital does not have BTP Uplifting trance
@Borntoproduce
@Borntoproduce 11 месяцев назад
Sorry if there is some confusion, but we never say that the BTP pack comes with the free version of Vital. It also does not come with the paid for version either, you can buy it from our site. However, you don't need to buy it to follow along with this tutorial as all the required Vital presets are included in the tutorial download :)
