Hosted tile layers are great to use for fast map visualization using predrawn map images, or tiles. This video steps you through different options to create a tile layer in ArcGIS Online using tools found in ArcGIS Pro. Additional information is included on which tool would work best for your data depending on what your end goal for the tile layer would be.

This is a great tutorial! I was having issues because I created a mosiac dataset at first and when I added rasters to the mosiac dataset I didn't compress them (in the tool there are settings to compress) which meant my dataset was way too big as it was uncompressing the imagery! Just figured I would comment that here in case anyone can't get these tools to run, that may be the reason why! :)

The tile option is always grayed out for me with tifs.

Hi I have a problem when use a function Create Map Tiles Packages. I pass my basemap which has a raster to TPK but i doesn`t keep the raster legend How do i keep raster legend? I want it to be displayed in field maps. thanks, Iván
