The Upper Yough is a short, busy Class IV - V gorge hidden amongst the hills near Friendsville, MD. For a week straight at the end of the dam release season, the Upper Yough fills with water and paddlers flock to the gorge to warm up for Gauley Fest at the end of the week. With steep, tight, technical drops and seemingly non stop boogie water in between, this river keeps you on your toes. This is the first of 4 laps we took for the week. More to come. Enjoy.
