Hare Krishna, From the understanding i got from lecture, i would like to try to answer your question. So what I understood is by taking shelter of lord Krishna, by chanting his holy name, by keeping association with devotees, by reading about lord's and his devotees beautiful pastimes i..e by reading Shri Bhagvatam. The false ego can only by destroyed by sword of knowledge and lord's mercy. So pray for lord's mercy to always remain in Krishna consciousness and request him to destroy false ego.Be always dependent on lord, like a new born child depends on his/her mother. @@mangeshsankpal7558 Hare Krishna Prabhu! No you are not wrong. You are absolutely right. But listening to the video again, it seems to me that Maharaj is bringing out a very interesting angle. Throughout the discussion, he raises the idea that all 'methods' of spiritual development are futile unless the underlying attitude of humility and service is there. He says that "we could follow regulative principles, we could do sadhana, we could cultivate knowledge, we can perform various types of austerities" - but "as long as there is false pride, the roots of the weeds remain." He gave the example that Hiranyakashipu and Ravana studied Vedas, chanted God's Names, and performed unbelievable austerities, but their spiritual practices were totally rooted in the 'I'. In Bharata Maharaj's case, he was doing all the right things, but he became "spiritually disconnected" - he became the 'doer' and Krishna was no longer in the center. Maharaj tells that "its not WHAT he was doing, it was the state of consciousness in which he was doing it. If we're not cultivating humility and seva, if we're not cultivating these qualities, then our false ego takes control of our life." Prabhu I appreciate and agree with everything you said. But Maharaj is also telling that unless these subtle levels of understanding are there, "then the same things we're doing - which could be the source of liberation - become the source of bondage." @@theresafoxglove3929 Hare Krishna I am so grateful to hear this beautiful insight from you 🙏🙏🙏 But to uproot false ego what we really need to understand is the meaning of taking shelter of Lord Krishna, he also gave the example Avanti Brahman, he was infected with false ego and pride, but eventually he realized that there is nothing in the world except for taking shelter of lord Krishna. So after taking shelter, all he was doing and thinking was how he can make lord Krishna happy . But reaching this state of full surrender is difficult, but not impossible. So story of Avanti Brahman told by HG Radhanath swami give us direction to uproot false ego. I might still not be correct, but Avanti Brahman story helped me out to understand how to uproot false ego. Hari Bol🙏🙏🙏

@@mangeshsankpal7558 Prabhu, you have taken the discussion one step further to the Essence of everything which is 'Surrender'. Hare Krishna! Please accept my grateful and humble pranams for your beautiful advice. During Maharaj's wonderful Prabhupada Apparance Day offering last year he quoted the Bhagavad Gita (7.19) that "After many births and many deaths of cultivating Knowledge, one surrenders to Vasudevea, knowing Him to be the Cause of all causes, and All that is." This is the natural conclusion to not depending on 'methods' of any type to attain the goals of Krishna Consciousness. The Avanti Brahman story which Maharaj cites here is, as you say, surely one of the best examples of Surrender from scripture in front of us. But speaking for myself, I am remembering something Maharaj said that describes my condition perfectly: "You have the concepts, but you haven't realized." Please bless me Prabhu to understand in an increasingly deeper way how to actually surrender fully to Guru and Krishna. Many thanks, Prabhu, for your kind and thoughtful association.

@@theresafoxglove3929 Hare Krishna 🙏🙏🙏 I am so grateful that I got to talk with such great devotee like you who is fully devoted to lord Krishna. To put simply what "surrender " means is that whatever we do, we should think will this make lord Krishna happy. Now question comes how we will know what makes lord Krishna happy, this can be known by asking few questions to ourselves, like will it hurt someone? or am I doing this for my own material desires? or will it help me in growing Krishna consciousness? As HG Radhanath swami says we shouldn't compromise in Krishna bhakti or seva. So what I understood what surrender means is to use our all senses in Krishna consciousness. Like we should use our eyes to see Krishna, use our ears to listen beautiful and sweet name of lord Krishna, we should use our mouth to chant the holy name and eat prasadam, we should use nose to smell beautiful and sweet flowers present near lord's lotus feet ,we should use our hands to do seva for lord Krishna, our Guru and help devotees , we should use our legs to walk towards isckon and keep on walking in Krishna consciousness path introduced by AC Shrila Prabhupad. This what my small mind is able to understand regarding "surrender ", there lots of beauty hidden in meaning of surrender, but this what i understood. May Lord Krishna bless you with all happiness, help you understand true Krishna Love, and always keep you in Krishna consciousness. Please pray more to lord Krishna, the more you pray, the more Krishna reveal himself to you .Pray for Krishna love, he will shower his love on you . Please try to maintain a relationship with lord Krishna, you can keep relationship of son, daughter, mother, father, friend, lover . This will really help you grow in Krishna consciousness.
