Duplex is better in the wind , storm I had a week ago was outrageous but it stayed up. Xmid wouldn't have. More room, lighter. Cons- it's not as durable, I've found two little holes in it already, the xmid I have none, and treated it harsher

Good insight, so why start early and not in May to allow for the snow to melt? I plan a May 12th start on the CDT. Similarly to “Waldo and the bare necessities “
I started April 30, nearly may. I'd say I was later than most. But yep , I'd start about that date if I had my time again. I had to book early as there was a sale and I was going to NZ to do TA , so I hedged my bets . Majority started April 15-25, far too early unless it's a drought year. Waldo is much quicker than me , so I wanted to allow enough time to finish before October. Keep in mind shuttles finish may 15 due to heat...this year was an anomaly..
