As a Doctor, i had the same question in my mind. But to those commenting here, my view changed after I started working. The way the govt medical sector and managements in pvt sector implements illogical policies on healthcare, take power away from doctors and throwing us to the general public for everything that is wrong with the policies, corporate sectors, big pharmas and politics in general , makes me understand that power is needed to bring about long lasting changes in this sector rather than bowing to each and every stupid rule lorded onto us by non medical (hardly qualified) personnel !

It's not about talent or tragedy, mbbs is 5.5 years of course on the other hand engineering is 4 years and getting into a medical college is way harder than anything else She literally wasted a seat of a potential student, if she wanted to be become an IAS or IPS she should have taken BA or any other stream why waste a seat of a course which already has a lowest selection ratio
Government 's spending on medical student is higher than engineering student......the number of engineering student is higher than medical student...... actually there are shortage of doctors in Indian .......

Reality is she is attracted by power, reputation and money that's why she wasted a seat and doctor's degree. She used it as a back up that's it. Doctors serve way more than an Ias and also have pretty good knowledge so no sense in lying.

Agreed she worked hard and not wasted her seat but don't you think this is problem in this country where children's where mostly aimless when they where admitted to certain field after 12th. It's failure of our education system that they failed to recognise the real potential in kids. and now people's are running for money here and there. most recent example IT sector is booming now everyone running there aimlessly. after IT some other field will be on rise and all of them chasing that field 😂 Our country become full of money chaisers, hardly 1-2 percent is actual talent and the reason is we don't have proper aim at that age when we where entering into college life from school.

See one thing is clear after 10th pass, she opted for science rather than math. Then comes neet exam, cracked it and Became Doctor. Then what she has lot of choices, becoming an IAS and controlling complete District health care later may be entire state health care as Prl secretary is one of the best choice. skills are totally different. a person with the skills of a doctor can only treat health related issues, and not management/politics. To become a doctor in India, you need to be a typical nerd, no social life and an extreme bookworm (yeah, don't underestimate the hardwork needed to become a doctor). Our city commissioner was a Dr, Dr.Raja Dayanidhi. During covid we had all the necessary medicines from day 1. He procured every small essential drugs. So the knowledge can be utilized anytime in life. So she wont wasting her medicine knowledge but she can very well apply along with management skills & government support to get best medical facilities for the people.

It just shows how tough a subject physics is before all Indian history, geography, politics, gk and every other arts subject. That's why, NEET comes before UPSC. If you can't clear physics, can't clear NEET.

I think it’s completely okay to choose IAS after MBBS. As we saw this year has been a year of scams, Atleast scams don’t take place at the level of selection for the IAS due to so many steps being involved behind it. And a doctor has respect but what a doctor lacks in this country is security and a good lifestyle.To achieve those one needs to get into bureaucracy.
Government should control the facilities for civil servants because of that power, curraption money and big government house and and many more that's way other best mind professionals has attract in these civil services...

IAS is IAS.. IAS is head of District Doctor is Doctor.. Doctor is head of clinic, hospital... that's. Remember in one district there can be many hospitals with very qualified and experts doctor but in that district only there is only one District Magistrate❤.

Sir said absolutely right, any BA(bail😂) can became a civil servant but not everyone can became a doctor. I know its hard to crack upsc or any competitive exams but I can assure you thay there are no genuis who clear these exams , luck also plays a very important role. If cracking upsc is a genuis thing then you have the wrong definition of GENIUS word.
