They are targeting Apala Mishra AIR 9 - privileged background etc.. scored the most in interview. But for reserved category person getting 400 AIR will be getting IAS whereas general category only AIR 90

What a stupid discussion, Tina Dabi, Kanishk Kataria, and many others were from the lower caste and they were among the candidates with the highest interview marks. These kinds of people always try to find anything to deliberately frame the casteist biases and now they are trying to say that the interview panel looks at caste instead of the personality of a candidate while giving marks?

The main reason is Reserved Categories can get through with lesser marks in preliminary and Mains stage. But when it comes to Personality test then knowledge is more important, hence reserved categories score less in Interview.

Is it true interviewer knows the written marks of prelims qualified candidate??? If yes..then there is high chances of partiality or biasedness for the reserve category candidates...someone should file RTI for this..

With due apologies, the researcher seems to be biased and prejudiced. Few observations - (i) the last step of selection is called personality test, not interview. (ii) its purpose is not to test the book or current affairs knowledge which has been already tested in the two written examinations. (iii) as far as I know, all members of the board get equal time to ask questions and all have say in the marks allocated (iv) expectation of low marks for certain categories is one of the reason for the reservation. (v) members of the board have highest degree of integrity. (vi) the questions are not for the knowledge but for integrity of the candidate, ability to handle unexpected situations, and ease of switching over from one situation to the other. In fact, ideally, it should be replaced by the something similar to services selection board which takes 5 days to evaluate a candidate. Regards

Statistically this is absolutely not acceptable. Correlation is not the metric to establish a relationship. Please try something like Granger-Causality, atleast. Please! It is very clear that the researcher has pre-conceived notions and the same is being forced out of the data. If I have a pre-conceived notion about a hypothesis before starting my work, I would definitely find exactly what I want to find.

Yes it is, I got 60 marks more than Miss Tina Dabi in prelims paper 1 & 2 included ( Tina who attended best coaching from almost every possible institutes, I had no coaching never had the money ) but still she qualified and she is considered as a god gifted golden girl, wheras people think I m dumb and is of no use

The system is opaque and no relevant data is present even for judicial review. UpSC should record the interviews and the process. Rightly said.

No matter what marks they give, a general category student can only get the seats allocated to them. They cannot get a reserved category seat, while a reserved category student can get a general category seat. After this much injustice to the general category students, you are trying to find 'bias' in the marking.

Prof. Arvind Kumar should back his hypothesis with data. His findings look more hearsay than actual fact. Pearson correlation Coefficient used in this statistical analysis is highly susceptible to sampling bias and other years data (which is available in public) should also be included in the study to draw a more clear and convincing picture.

Interviewers don’t know the marks of mains of the candidate , kindly do research and then spread rumours

2019 for IAS general rank -77 , OBC -304 ,SC -504 ,ST -513 2018 for IAS genral rank - 92 ,OBC -457 ,SC- 492 , ST - 528 And this is the story of each year So pata nhi kis data ki baat kar rhe hai shriman , or koi bhi candidate nahi chahega ki raham ke adhar pe mile to ispe bhi dhyan dijiye Shriman. Aur isse ye bat ka bhi anuman lagaya ja sakta hai ki gen category ke log 50 se kam rank lana chahenge or baki category ke apne hisab se isliye v unke marks kam ayenge or isme kuch galat bhi nhi hai kyuki banna IAS hi hai or ek bat genral me sirf so called forwarf caste ke log nahi ate hai unme dusre category ke bhi hote hai . To har saal IAS chune jane ki sankhya me Forward caste ki baki categories se kam hogi .

The Interview board have no idea about written marks of any candidate.

I don't think it has got something to do with biasedness. Afterall, this is a personality test. People from well off categories and opportunities get tonnes of chances to work on their personality..people from.backward classes do not. So maybe it's because of the economic and social background. One can't allege that the panel is biased.

This is truth.....i also didn't believed but when i correlated these topper marks list of last 2 years marks....This is truth in this video. Even indirectly they have increased the range of interview marks and also the weightage of interview have increased because they decreased the mains marks and increased interview marks.... indirectly interview boards are deciding ias and ips post.

I have been feeling this for long The DAF which is with board members the first page itself ask the category in the first or second column Plus if categories have age relaxation The why the DAF first page ask are you claiming age relaxation ie (above 32 which is for lgeneral so if obc or SC candidate is say 33 then he has to write yes I am claiming age relaxation that too on the first page this gives clear idea that candidate belongs to reserved category)why this is asked when age relaxation for candidates is given Even I felt this during my own interview Pls take out the data of those also who didn’t make to list but appeared for interview an clear pattern you will see All my friends who were from reserved category who didn’t make to list got less in interviews than those from general category who too didn’t make in the list Also If alll mains papers are of 250 marks each then why this personality test is of 275 marks should it also be of 250 marks There is a clear bias thanks for highlighting

The title of the video should be 'candidates of SC, ST and OBC' and not 'candidates of reserved category'. Because even if a person from OBC community(here it includes castes which were regarded as Shudras by birth based Varna system and not few subcastes of upper castes which are also included in OBC) will apply in General category(due to being in Creamy layer or for some other reason) still he/she will get less marks in interview as compared to upper castes. And an upper caste candidate from EWS category(i.e. reserved category) will get higher marks in interview than a person from OBC, SC and ST community. This bias and discrimination is also true for PSUs. Hence it will always be risky and dangerous for candidates of SC, ST and OBC to apply in General category because due to discrimination in interview they won't be able to cross the cutoff of General merit list. And then there are some scums who oppose reservation. If reservation wouldn't have been there then there would have been negligible representation of SC, ST and OBC everywhere due to discrimination at institutional level. The recent example is recruitment of Principal of colleges in UP. Out of 263 posts, 223 had gone to upper castes i.e. is almost 85% and their population is only 15%. And these scums talk about merit when they got selected solely due to caste based discrimination happening at institutional level against SCs, STs and OBCs.

UPSC is hypocracy of transparency….!!! Targeting the OBC, SC and STs candidates… every year new … drama last year reserve list ke naam pe beimani kiya …!!! OBC leader of BJP should think about it… that’s why people started hating BJP… these blood rascals don’t believe in institutions.

Negative correlation within a certain category means people scoring higher marks in written get lower marks in interviews but those getting lower in written get higher in interview. So if the interviewers are biased against the category, why would they award higher marks to people who are scoring lower marks in interview. This is a poor interpretation of statistics. The Print should verify such statistical interpretation by experts before presetting them to sensationalize a debate.
