UPSC Prelims 2023 Booklist | DON'T READ NCERT |  

Thank you so much everyone for your praise & wishes. I just tried to share my raw feelings and raw approach for Upsc prelims . I am not saying the strategy is perfect but Shayad kisi aspirant ki madad ho jaye. Kuch baate aap logo se karni hai - 1) Mai bhi aapko har subject ki 2-3 books bata sakti thi jo sab batate hain. Vo books hum sabko pata hai, bohat se log padhte bhi honge but revision possible nhi hai itne saare material ka . 2) Ye to sabse aachi baat hogi na , aap log saari ncerts padh lo + har subject ki 2-3 books padh lo + daily newspaper+ (monthly+yearly) current affairs + 2-3 institues k tests lagalo + 50 saal k previous year questions laga lo ETC ETC ETC ..........Gyaan ki to koi seema nhi . Jitna mile aacha hai ...understanding banegi mast deep. Jiska man hai vo ye kare . 3) But jin logo k paas superpowers nhi hai itna sab padhne ki, ye un logo k lie hai ki kam se kam itna padhkar aap ek honest attempt de sakte hai upsc ka !! I made my own Geography notes from NCERT and I matched with UPSC previous question paper and its more than 80 percent questions has come from there.

Revision is the key first read ncerts after that stick to 5-6 books only, read,revise&reproduce. Keep an eye on current affairs do it daily and give atleast 3 hours to optional. 5 essential books - Laxmikat polity, Shankar& Ganesh Economy, Shankar Ias Environment,Spectrum,For Geo and history read NCerts give testseries.

NCERTs are MUST for UPSC "No matter how beautiful your dome is, it'll collapse if your pillars are weak"

Honestly I was thinking why any topper not suggest lucent book for ancient and medieval. But after watching this video my dought get clear. Thank you mam for this guidance.

The most important takeaway is focused study ( 10 questions from 100 pages rather than 15 questions from 1000 pages). And even more important, the importance of revision. Like Bruce lle said "i don't fear someone who learned 1000 things rather I fear the one who learned 1 thing a 10000 times. - thanks for the awareness. This is valid not just for upsc rather for any exam. Practice and revision the real Trump cards.🙂

I think people should not go after everyone who clears this exam or any stage. Not everyone are capable enough to give u an analysis. Decide urself. Focus on study. One thing works for some and others for some. It's a true fact.

If you don't have any base it's stupidity to directly go to Supplimentary book And for reading newspaper also if you don't have any basic knowledge..how you will understand the topic.. example- IF YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GREENHOUSE GASES BASIC..HOW YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THE TOPIC FROM NEWSPAPER

Art & Culture of Nitin Singhania is good book. I have done multiple revision of Nitin Singhania and all the pictures are now stored in my brain. Yeah. Fine art is very good book of NCERT and Aspirants should go for it also, but should not skip Nitin Singhania.
