HOLY CRAP!! I'VE FINALLY FOUND A TUTORIAL THAT EXPLAINS MAGIC CIRCLE IN A WAY THAT DOESN'T MAKE HE WANT TO BURNN ALL MY YARN AND DRIVE OFF A CLIFF!! I bow down before your excellence, madam!
@@FalseBubbles I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer and I've been trying to make a ln shortly ready beginner triangle shawl for her but it starts with a magic loop and the video went so quickly without any verbal explanation that I was totally lost. I tagged it to the person who made the video and they told me to host slow the video down but I had already slowed it to .25 speed. I'm a very visual learner and personally a knitter (i leaned to crochet as a kid 30 years ago but was never told what why of the stitched were called) I rely heavily on learning both the action of the stuck and the name of the stretch based on videos until I can learn to read patterns and connect it to the hand motions I was taught as a child. The pacing of your video is absolutely perfect and I feel like I can FINALLY start on the shawl for my friend, who has already started chemo. So when I say this video is a big deal to me, it's a REALLY big deal. I appreciate you and I'm glad I stumbled onto your channel. Already hit subscribe and can't wait to check it more! Thank you again for helping me help my friend. 💛
Big thanks for this tutorial. My 10 years old granddaughter and I made 25 of this little cups and gave them as Christmas presents for every one of her teachers and couches. We put a little kiss chocolate on top and every one loved it. It was something fun to share with my granddaughter
To make it a little easier to follow along, I tried my best to make the video as a readable pattern with timestamps! This is my first time doing this so it's probably not perfect, but I hope it helps! Intro: 0:00 Materials: 1:06 Cup: - 3:55) Round 1: MC 6 - 6 - 5:07) Round 2: INC 6 - 12 - 6:35) Round 3: (SC 1, INC 1)x6 - 18 - 7:24) Round 4: (SC 2, INC 1)x6 - 24 - 8:06) Round 5: *BL only!* SC 24 - 24 - 9:23) Rounds 6-13: SC 24 - 24 - 10:05) Round 14: SLP 24 - 24 - 11:05) FO Cup (go into BL of last SLP) Handle: - 12:32) SLP knot (leave a few in. You got a cute lil' guy!
Thank you for the transcription of this pattern. One change I would make is in the wording for attaching the safety eyes. In the video, the eyes appear to be mounted 5 stitches apart (leaving 4 open stitches between the eyes). Perhaps I am in a small group of people who interpret "4 stitches apart" to mean something different from what was shown in the video, but I think the instructions may be more clear for everyone if they said "5 stitches apart (leaving 4 open stitches between eyes)"?
THANK YOU so much for putting the written pattern in the description! I struggle sometimes with video patterns and written ones just make more sense to my brain. Thank you!
Your video tutorial just came to me right now. Thank you for sharing with us your project. I just love cofee. I' m a brasilian woman from Rio de Janeiro and here we love coffee with everything😊😊😊 Once more, thank you.
I cannot thank you enough for this! I went from having never picked up a hook less than a month ago to making my first plush. It's not perfect, like yours is, but I am very proud of it. Thank you again.
You are such a great teacher! I always lose count of my stitches and make huge errors and just continue on with half- baked projects, but this is a breakthrough for me! The stitches and the shape are matching up to what you say they should be!
Did I just finished making a chunky coffee cup ... I sure did. Am I making another one? I sure am ! am I happy and proud?! I sure am and do I think I'm addicted ... hell yeah
I know this is an old post HOWEVER... small projects like this are an excellent break when you're overwhelmed with other, bigger or tedious/projects that require much attention to detail with stitch counting and multiple row repeats. *Finishing one of these little cups gives you a sense of accomplishment.. Release of dopamine...and then you can proceed to finish your other projects* Unsure about the dopamine thing...I just said it because it sounded good but it does give a sense of accomplishment lol
this is so easy to make! I really loved making my first one I can see how i am going to filling me evenings... Thank you so much for this. Also a big thank you for showing how to make the magic ring. I have tried a few ways, but yours works the best. And i did not struggle with your explanstion. So thank you
@FalseBubbles I had so much fun doing this tutorial, felt like I was on cloud nine 😂 I loved how detailed you were about everything and not fast forwarding so quickly. By far best explanation video 👌🏻👏🏻👍🏻thank you!
Dearest Megan, my fingers are all thumbs and I never thought it possible that I could crochet an upset coffee cup that looks halfway decent, but with your help, I did it! Not that mine looks anything like the cute cup you crocheted, but it is far and away superior to all the things I have crocheted before. I didn't even curse once while I was following your tutorial (something utterly unheard of with all my other trials). I loved the relaxing music and your pleasant voice and I will do my level best to crochet another upset coffee cup that I can actually gift to someone else. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is the cutest pattern! As a crochet newbie last year, I threw myself into the deep end and crocheted amigurumi gifts for everyone for the holidays--some worked out better than others. This is the first time I've ever finished a project feeling confident and completely loving how it looks, and your video really helped with that. I especially appreciated how clear you were when it comes to sewing the coffee in. I'm giving my first lil happy coffee to my best friend...but then I'll make some for myself!
Aww I'm so glad thank you so much for sharing this! I found it super difficult to wrap my head around when I first started so I like to teach people the way I wish I was taught! 🥰
I made one for my niece, who loves coffee, and I liked it so much I'm making one for myself! Great tutorial, especially the details on how exactly to attach the handle and coffee parts and the best way to weave in the ends.
Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! As a recent beginner, this was the first project I tried with the magic circle... and I'm happy to say this was a very cute success!
this was such a perfect video! I recently started crocheting and little by little I’m learning more about the magic circle but I didn’t really get how to increase until this video. This was such a cute project and I can’t wait to see more beginner friendly videos that you have on your channel! Thank you
No hate but it’s not as easy as you think, she’s done it longer than most of us so she gets it pretty well but other people look at it differently, I am new to crocheting also and when I tell you everything she’s doing is no where near what I’m doing but keep trying and keep going! ❤
I love the little fellas so much, thank you for the tutorial! I dislike sewing amigurumi parts together with a passion and I avoid it whenever I can, so I fiddled around a little and you can make the pattern no-sew pretty easily, which is another huuuge plus for me :3 brb, gonna make a family of coffee mugs now 🥰
This was my second Project and it came our so cute. Thanks for the good tutorial. I have to practice a bit more, but when i am better I will do a lot of those tiny Cups and give it to every person at the open sewing class at school, as a tiny needlepillow
Thank you so much I love this I’ve been making a few and my son gave me a great idea of it being hot chocolate and he wanted marshmallows in it so I added some white stitches In the brown part!! These are the cutest little cups!! 🎉
I loved making this little coffee cup for my future daughter-in-law. She loves it as much as she loves her coffee ☕️. Thank you so much. You explained it so well.
I just found this account and I am more than delighted. I honestly NEVER comment on RU-vid but I just had to this time! This project is so DARN CUTE and your video is really tidy plus your explanation are SUPER CLEAR!! This is, I think, my 3rd or 4th project and I did it without any difficulties thanks to you! Praises! 👏🏾
Thank you !!! It was so easy and we'll explained also thank you so so much for giving the written pattern in the description itself.it helped alot . I'm fairly new to crocheting so mine didn't turn out as perfect as yours but I would say it is cute for first try all thanks to you!!! Also I'm going to make many emoji versions of this cutiee angy cup
I love your video so much. The Magic Circle has always confused me, but you made it both simple and easy to remember! Having the written pattern was amazing also. I just finished my 6th one, they will be Christmas tree ornaments...I used a cardboard circle inside the base and added a loop that passes vertically through the body and out the top. Can't wait to see everyone's faces! Thank you!! 😃
Thank you for the step by step. I was able to pause and replay when needed. I am using this to make Christmas hot cocoa ornaments. Using a red mug, a little lighter brown, and adding some white marshmallows to the top of the hot cocoa. :)
How adorable! I will soon open an Airbnb. I think I will makes these as gifts that hold coffee pods for the guests. Of course, that means I will not create the brown crochet on top. Thank you for you design!!!
I'm gonna work this up when I'm not so exchequer from working night shift... but hands down, the best most stress free magic circle ever. Thank-you so much!
This may be the funnest thing to make! thank you for the tutorial and for writing the pattern in the description too. I like using both at the same time lol
thank you so much for this tutorial!!!! I'm a beginner and this is the first piece I've made that I can say I'm proud of! LOL. Excellent instructions, very detailed and helped me see where I was making mistakes previously. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
My daughter and her friend (their birthdays are just a day apart) are going to love this! Thank you so much for the patterns. I can make enough for a little doll house, as I know that the girls will play with them as if they are dolls. Kids are cute like that...
I haven’t crocheted in years and always wanted to learn amigurumi but I was always intimidated to try. This seems so simple, I think I gotta dig through my craft closet and dust off my crochet hooks 🧶❤
These are absolutely darling! and I don't even drink coffee! But they would be cute for teacups too.. maybe make a little saucer for under it! Very good and easy to follow instructions.
I AM OBSESED! Thank you so much for this tutorial. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I've made one and it's so adorable! I've decided that mine will be a cup of tea, and I've done that by adding a short piece of white yarn with yellow square at the end. I attached it to the brown part and now it looks like there's a teabag inside. I'll be gfting it to my friend, because he is obssesed with tea, and his birthday party is next week. TYSM!
I love this!!! I made one with plush yarn. I added a smile. I am a huge fan of coffee 😂😂😂 Just a note with the thicker yarn I only did three rows instead of seven.
This has been my second amigurumi (and crochet) project. Quite easy for beginners like me and pretty easy to follow. The only thing I couldn't manage was to get the bottom perfectly flat, but not bad for my first try. Thans a lot for this video!
So glad you found it helpful! Sometimes putting a little cutout of cardstock or cardboard is helpful to keep it flat! Stuffing tends to make things pop out!
I made my mouth with the same sized yarn, that i used to crochet. It looks like a mustache and I love it! Nice tutorial, but next time i might use only front loops while making the cup, so it's easier to attach the drink!
Thank-you for the pattern. For kids toys, I use yarn and embroider the eyes, stroke stitch. If they get messed up, they can be re-done. Plastic eyes are cute, but can snap off, then toy needs to be unsewn if at all possible, to get the end bits out. Cutting off the ends of eye shaft after fastening in, is good for small items. I sew pieces on twice, whip then ladder st, so kids etc cannot pull them off. I leave 4× the length of each seam +an inch, yarn tail for sewing on.
