You are wrong. UPM is easier to go into than UKM. UKM medic average merit is higher than UPM medic. UPM has approx 100 intakes for medical students yearly, 50% is reserved for their Asasi students. But anyway congrats for getting into medic in IPTA as is not easy.
No you are wrong. Last year UKM received 40 + Chinese , 3-5 from UKM asasi but upm received only 10+ Chinese and half of them from asasi upm? It’s difficult for us who is not from asasi to enter up, medic
@@khaixian6093 each uni has the so called quota policy for non bumi i.e 10%. There's even quota for their own asasi students. It's too sensitive to talk in further details lol. Both ukm and upm asasi open for all unlike UM and others. From my experience Ukm taking in more non bumi in medic than upm. If this is the 'easier' you meant then you are right. Total intakes for UKM is also higher. I am talking about in general regardless u are chinese or others. Extra information, only UM and UKM medic degree is recognized in SG means you can work in SG with your degree. Anyway, no matter which Uni you are in, go ahead and pursue your dream as doctor. congratz all. your senior :-P
To answer why UKM takes more outside student is asasi UKM is an open asasi. Therefore, no so called 50% quota reserved for their students. Their asasi student are free to go to other Uni using UPU. Asasi UPM is a closed asasi, so their students can only study in UPM during degree, therefore they have to lock around 50% quota for their own student. Maybe this is why both of you assume it is 'harder' to get into UPM medic for chinese, which after further thinking also logic. :)
