Just a simple example, when we are go on a trip or any other happy occasion we sing, may be some of the 60's, highly 70's, 80's and few from 90's. After that nothing to sing for enjoyment. Not in our minds even. Why that, where did we go wrong.....?? This is a problem not only in Sri Lanka even in the western music. After the deaths of Fredie Mercury, MJ, Prince, George Michael, David Bowie, John Lenon, Kurt Cobian etc. etc. there are no talented musicians to see. Few legends such as Madonna, Bruce, Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, Billy Joel, Phil Collins & Mark Knopfler etc. are still living but very rarely appearing. One direction, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Justin B and similar people are ruling the music world their own way. Really really sad.
This sort of music will never come back. Sorry mother Sri Lanka. All these songs talk to your hearts. Now a days present generation doesn't have a heart to think. Now is the era of wrap, hip hop and electronic type music which are quite irritating and destroying all your humanitarian sensors. It's a pity.

Nimal Mendis the best music composer of Sri Lanka, What a shame he had to leave the counrty with such disappointment after all the Indian music composers and follwers castigate him..same fate happen to Clarence Wijewardena SHAME SRI LANKA SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR BLOODY INDIAN MUSIC ADDICTION...SHAME
