It is a good idea to listen to your bike while riding, it will usually tell you something needs fixed.

I’ve watched all your very good and informative vids. Two I’d enjoy seeing are 1) lubrication of splines - side car and drive splines 2) a general inspection of machine in say a fifteen thousand km service where changing of fuel filter necessary.

Yes this is a very popular topic on the forums and group discussions, I thought about including this tip but thought as I am representing the OEM I should let owners hear it from other experienced Ural riders. As it is I sometimes push the line of what I should and shouldn't suggest but folks appear to like the honesty of the topics. Thank you for the comment!

Very helpful videos thanks👍 Just my two cents, after calliper installation don't forget to give one or two brake pedal movement to reset the brake pistons and pads 😉

Hi David. Nice video. I am new to Ural 2WD and have a left hand drive sidecar. I am a little confused about the purpose of the distance piece. From what I can see, the wheel is driven via the spline engagement and the wheel/stub axle assembly rotates as a unit on the bearings in the swing arm. The wheel bearings actually take no part in supporting the wheel in a rotational sense. ie turning the wheel by hand it can be seen that the castle nut rotates as well, with the stub axle. The spacer is tucked up inside the spline and bears against the spline on wheel side. So, it rotates with the spline assembly. How does it wear out? Assuming it is held firmly by compression of the castle nut.

Really great video... but have not seen where the 3 small washers are located on the brake caliper... maybe you can show that later on again. And great know that the distance washer on the axle is a wear part... didn’t know that. Maybe you can make a video with a list of all these tiny little things you have additionalem in your tools to make live easier outside? Like the washer, splints, other tools etc... that would be great!
@UralMotorcyclesOfficial
@UralMotorcyclesOfficial 4 года назад
Great suggestions! The spacers/washers (if your bike has them) go between the caliper and the mounting bracket. If you contact us at info@ural.com we can send a picture of what that looks like.

Fritz Thecat yikes - haven’t encountered splints - what are they.
@fritzthecat1973
@fritzthecat1973 3 года назад
@@stupollock6851 I mean these tiny little metal pieces you need to secure nuts or bolts... like a split nail, you have to bend the 2 "arms" of the splint to secure the bolt/nut... I have learned toi have always some of these with me for the brakes and other parts. Nightmare if you break one of these or lose them and you are not able to secure the brake pads correctly...
@stupollock6851
@stupollock6851 3 года назад
@@fritzthecat1973 Are these splints rather generic - or particular to he Brembo brand. I have a 2020 gear up and I am also assembling a tool kit. My Cush donut is on order as that would be a mess not to have when needed.

Please post a video on putting the spare on the front wheel. My front wheel is cracked and is unusable. I think my spare will work on the front after changing the disc rotor mount but am having problems figuring out the caliber mount.

Hi. Can you post a video on how to change a TIRE from a rim, not an entire wheel. Especially, the stock Duro tires I’ve found them tough and hard to change.
@stupollock6851
@stupollock6851 3 года назад
Der Teufel get some rim savers. They come in a pack of two- get two packs so have four of them. I purchased a bead buddy which would have been useful but I couldn’t get it to fit the 19” rim and was afraid of scraping the rim so didn’t use. Your friends are soapy water to lube tire and talcum powder when inserting tube. Need three tire spoons and a tire valve remover. Another good thing to do if available is heat your tire before lubing as it is more pliable. Another tip is to take small incremental jumps with your tire spoons - don’t be too aggressive and try to bite off too much at a time. Plenty of good vids on utube but the tips I’ve suggested not always covered.

Der Teufel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uwenLKHZMp0.html Read the comments as well. This is enough info to do a great job. I find using the tub mount a great idea but if you have the brake disk on I just use an old tire as a base and do it on the ground - using an old tire raises the brake disk off the ground so you don’t bend or warp it.
