join us as we go on a feral pigeon extermination in nottingham city centre, well over 100 pigeons were shot so renovation work can begin on the building.
Great shooting 👍 this needs to happen more. Every time I go into Manchester city centre (my home city) the number of feral pigeons is out of control. Covering everything is guano and being quite aggressive. Nobody seems to do anything about it
air guns are totally legal for anyone to use, shotgun and rifles require a licence which anyone without a violent criminal history can apply for. there is no prejudice when it comes to firearms licencing, if you are mentally sound and not a violent criminal it's a pretty straight forward process.
I'm from the UK but now live in Canada. One thing that struck me on a recent visit back to the UK was the number of feral pigeons. Clearly councils are doing nothing to reduce the number of these dirty creatures, either out of squeamishness or lack of funds. A real shame as fine buildings should not be covered in a cloak of guano.
Every time I go into Manchester city centre its the same. Feral pigeons everywhere with nothing being done. Theyre quite bold and aggressive they'll fly right by your head. Cover everything in mess
Marcus, keeping an open mind is the best that anyone can ask for. If you watch the video, you saw the amount of damage that pigeon poop can cause. It's extremely caustic and can ruin paint and rot wood. You could shoo them all out, but they'd just come back. Humanely killing them is the best way of getting rid of them.
I went shooting and in 3 days I shot 457 birds and the property owner gave me £2 per bird so I got a new rifle and a pistol if the shot was close enough .
Lads good video but you definitely need a .22 for this range, too many injured birds walking around for my liking, just fuels the anti’s. .22 /.25 would give you the one shot one kill you need.
A suppressed .22 or .25 Benjamin marauder will do Very nicely for any pest animals. At 20 yards my marauder will blow clean through an empty 1lb propane tank. Both calibers of marauder pack a serious punch and can be whisper quiet.
nighthunterwhippets it's a great video we have problems with them here in our towns people don't realise how dirty these birds are and they make it worse by feeding them there's signs up everywhere saying not to feed them but they still do
You would have been so much better off with a multi shot pcp airrifle . But fare play you rid the place of a decent few ,,if you get the chance to keep at them they'll notice the numbers lowered in the town threw the day.🎯👏👍 Plenty of ferret food.
I think you should consider trying to wear some kind of breathing mask I know it's hard when shooting but this dirty environment can't be good for you Great permission though
Never seen anything like this before. Very cool vid. Great pest control and more of this sort of control should be available to get the vast numbers of ferals down. Damn things are everywhere, creating mess, spreading disease and waking us up far too damn early! Keep at it guys. Any tips on getting permission for some similar shooting in my area?
thanks for your comment, usually if you speak to the tenants or building owner and explain that you offer a pigeon control service they are more than willing to let you on, just be polite and professional and you will get some permission in no time
Even though I am absolutely NOT one of those bleeding heart types that is triggered by the killing of any animals, I did feel a pang of sympathy for that bird that was not killed by the pellet and was subsequently beaten into the floor to finish the job. Perhaps another point blank shot to the head to finish the job might have been a bit more humane. Don't mistake my comment however, I loved the video and it was very entertaining. Great work!
их кормят добрые люди а вот эти твари их убивают не когда в жизни не кому не помогли только ходят и портят все! по вам гиена огненная плачет и вы встретите свою смерть и там вы ответите за свои поступки
We thought guns of any kind were band in England/U.K. ? Now is there some people that can get them or is it just rich people middle class what gives a person the right to have a gun of any kind in England/U.K. ? Please tell us if it is a myth or fact no guns or maybe some guns huh duh wellll maybe?
Oh we thought they said .22 rim fire which is a gun. We know there are .22 air rilfes too. Thanks for the info though, we keep seeing people in the U.K. with real gun powder bullets on you tube and wonder how? Thanks for the fast reply, most you tubers don't even bother.
great video, I have a channel devoted to Urban Airgunning, And I do a lot of pigeon shooting here in the U.S. I just wanted to say how great this video was, I'm recommending it for Field Sports Britain's segment on there air gun section called Air Streaming where they show great videos from RU-vid. also what kind of rifle bag are you guys using in the video? the green camo bag on your buddy's back, it looks very handy.
What happens to the pigeons you kill with the rings on their legs?? that get lost finding the way home? most have phone numbers I.E WING STAMPS OR PHONE ADDRESS RINGS.. do you ring the owners to tell them you've killed their bird? what do you do with the rings? and I keep pigeons and I for one wouldn't be very happy if someone killed my bird! .. yeah they shouldn't be roosting in the buildings but it's still someone property!! its like someone going out n killing a dog or cat. the would be world war 3 but because its a pigeon people ain't to bothered!! if people realised the time effort, money and dedication us pigeon lads put into our birds 365 days a year any weather to keep them in condition there would be a total shock!! not having ago mate. but think about the ones with rings on in future not everyone of them are feral
I've shot pigeons in the states and have never encountered a banded pigeon. My tip to all bird keepers is to mark your birds with a distinctive color (such as neon pink)and start a PR program with hunters to get the word out.
