Sketching in the Lisbon harbor on a sunny afternoon. This is one of my favorite locations in the city and I go there very often to do some sketching. More sketches can be seen at www.tracoslocais.blogspot.com Music by Lobo Loco
Adnan A my god this is relateable In any drawing i always get caught up in wanting every line too be straight, and the drawing ends up looking like shit
That was fantastic, thank you so much for sharing your techniques and knowledge. I've had Pilot Parallel pens for years but never used them for sketching - well, that's about to change right now :)
Wow extremely helpful in sketching buildings at that angle. Just what I was looking for and the speed with which you did it was perfect because we got to see most of the process. I assume sides of the windows on the buildings were drawn parallel to the page? and the bottom ones parallel to the top and bottom Line? I ask because I'm just getting into perspective and I want to make sure that's what it is. thank you so much
This is most excellent insight on how to be selective for a better composition. You chose only a tiny portion- a small peephole of what is actually there to draw/paint, and a beautiful composition at the end. thank you.
Hi Filipe you are pretty amazing and so inspiring. I'd like to buy some new art supplies like yours but first I need to know if the ink you use, the Noodlers, is dangerous for the fountain pens if it dry, and you have to wash pens and converters every time you stop drawing.
Lunahverde I never had any problems with the Noodlers ink, it never dried in any of my pens. But I never left any pen without use for too long. Usually I refill my pens many times in a row without washing, but if you stop using a pen I would recommend taking out the ink and washing it.
Vi esse vídeo duas vezes e fico me perguntando como ele faz isso com tanta facilidade. O resultado é bonito de ver. Estou tentando, mas até agora nada.
I have these pens but not used because ink not waterproof.....how do you refill the cartridges? O is there a special adaptor for these pens? Great idea to use paler ink in the distant boat!
Marie, the ink I use with all my pens is the Noodler's Black. Many sketchers I know use the Platinum Carbon Ink. I think you can them both easily on the internet.
Filipe, Beautifully done! Noodler's Black is supposed to be a permanent ink but not a waterproof ink. From your demo, it seems you can safely use watercolor over it.
Filipe Almeida oh i see! i make handmade watercolor sketchbooks too using the coptic stitch technique, it's just cheaper that way and i can get to use arches too!
Filipe Almeida I mean with the pilot pen, for example when you are drawing the tower thingy at around 1:15, it seems like it can do really thin lines and then really thick ones as well
