Just today I bought watersoluble pencils £6.00 for the 24 colours in The Works. I think it’s their brand called Crawford and Black. They do a good job. This brand has many different types of paints and papers and pens for a good price. Just wanted to try them out. Perfect for beginners or if you are on the budget.

You can refill any fountain pen cartridge with a blunt needle syringe and your bottle of ink. Also the Brush pen cartridge can be refilled with Platinum Carbon. Black

I have the Potentate sketchbook and I love it. It’s small and portable. Takes a lot of water. The paper is top quality.

I love the caran d'ache ones! (esp the purple one) But I usually suck them up, tilt them upwards, push the bottom and let the air out, which makes them small again. That way they're pretty leakproof in my bag.

I like the Pentel water brushes. I've tried a few other brands, but I came back to Pentel. Mainly I use the flat and the large.

You carry pretty much the same items that I carry around. I do have a fine tip fountain pen with waterproof ink (Nibblers), a mechanical pencil with 7mm 2H lead and a plastic eraser. I normally carry a Strathmore Hardcover Art Journal, series 400 sketchbook, 8.5” X 5.5” on which I can sketch, use pen and ink, and use my MungYo watercolors. I enjoy your videos and feel I learn from them. I just wish I could afford to go to where you go to sketch and paint. Looking forward to your next RU-vid presentation.

Mungyo watercolors are an excellent value! I've gradually shifted over to a more expensive brand, but I still keep the Mungyo greens in my palette.

@@SharonFoster852 - I find them easy to use and the small case real;y helps when one is trying to balance sketch book, water brush, paints, and wash cloth while standing in a windy area. So far them appear to be e holding their colors when the picture is hung up.

I like the Silvine A5 black light drawing books. I haven't tried watercolour on it yet but the paper is good.

Sorry for my delayed response Alice! Yes it is a Faber Castell pencil sharpener - my favourite that I’ve tried. I think I was going to include it but then maybe changed my mind as perhaps a tad dull?! 😅

Hi loving your videos. New subscriber. I am a beginner (38 y.o 😅) new to sketching. Do you think, a mech. pencil and a fountain pen is enough to start with.

Thank you so much! I’m also 38 :) you can start drawing whenever, there’s no age limit! Many of my students are retirees and have just started 🥰 yes, mechanical pencil and fountain pen is perfect to start with. 👍
