OMG 1:46 and 1:49 I swear those are the best wall-runs I have ever seen, I need to learn that off those guys.

Parkour is the process of moving as efficiently as possible from one point to another using only bodily movement. So, everything they do in this race is technically parkour. However, the concept of the obstacle course was there before a concept of parkour, so it is rightly called an obstacle course. After all, parkour is named after the French word for obstacle course: "Parcour de combattants" (or something like that). Either way of describing what is happening in this video is equally correct.

Your Olympics suggestion is awesome. It would make it MANY times more enjoyable to watch!

I think this is true interpretation of sport. This shows how good athlete you are. This should definitely be the sport with more attention. I'd love watching it in TV ( internet ). WoW you guys are amazing. Maybe one problem - i'd add more technical obstacles. But still it is awesome.

Fully aware of that. The point was that they are doing this as a natural thing and 'probably' aren't aware of the PK/FR phenom that we all know.

He wouldn't. While he is a great practitioner, he isn't a trained athlete. These guys are proper athletes who's fitness levels are seriously next level..

Those who say this isn't parkour, check description next time.. And that was pretty darn awesome, wish I could be that fast ;)

That guy never ran through the wall lol. There was a concrete hurdle between him and the camera as he jumped the wall. He had already cleared the wall before the camera had him back in shot.

Here they had paths they were to follow. Imagine a free course where you got to choose your path and complete it as fast as possible. Like round 2 of MTV's Parkour Challenge, that was my favorite part of the show, pure parkour. I just wonder how races can be held without losing parkour's message . . .

That was awesome! The first ladder climb had a big drop and I figured they would crawl a little way down... nope! Amazing people; I want to do that course!

Amazing this what a real athletic approach to parkour would look like love it, Take a way a few rules that don't make sense and this is pretty darn good format.

the very first vault was choppy but damn that fence flip had a huge ass drop and their speed vaults were amazing kinda reminds me of that map pack in mirrors edge

this is how a real arkour competition should be, not the shows where freerunners do flips pver and over again. i think even david belle couldnt move this fast.... they are awesome!!

i m in the military akademy in wiener neustadt and we all train at this parcour every week! the austrian guy is günther kaiser he made the world record on the hindernisbahn as we say in austria!

because it wasn't originally in the Greek Olympics..the Olympics only have the sports that were in the Greece Olympics..and for the ones that weren't originally in the Greek Olympics but are in the current Olympics today, see if you can find out how long it took to decide to have that sport incorporated, because im sure it took a very long time.

Many traucers follow a certain philosophy of Parkour. One of the things emphasized in the philosophy is how Parkour is non-competitive. Parkour remains as a non-competitive sport and many traucers believe it should be a non-competitive sport. Parkour in the olympics will only go against that philosophy.

who won and is this ligitly made for parkour?

Learn to run at a pace. Then learn to run and be able to dodge/ moe around. Then begin to move around objects at slower speed and work your way up.

in my opinion its free-running caus its going over obstacles and getting from one place to another as fast as u can using the obstacles.

@patrickmcleish also in parkour there are no rules unlike in this. ie a traceuse wouldnt have climbed over the bar but would have just ran through it.

WTF are you talking about?? I would like to remind you David Belle created parkour later than militaries created their moving practices. David Belle was heavily influenced by his father (who was ex soldier) when creating parkour. This stuff was what parkour was based on.

He didn't run the ought the wall. That was one of the big cement-like hurdles that they jumped over before.

Freerun is word leaded from words freestyle parkour just so you guys know. Also this is not parkour this is military movement based sport. Technicaly though this kind of form would be ideal when parkour gets more competiced (because it seems to be how it will be >_>)
