It was very scary getting that lift up to the offices knowing that it is faulty. I was so worried that we wouldn't get the doors to close and safety connected to get back down.
Both lifts now working properly. Rubax have worked on them and unlocked the logic I’m guessing while replacing the door motors. Still on LCE logic buttons replaced with Dewhurst in to the Kone panel.
How did you figure out that you could do that with the lift? That's impressive! You guys have great knowledge of lifts, interesting I wonder what that Kone service card thing looks like. No need for a hotel in Birmingham with the abandoned places you can get into 😀
We went here previously and got up to the top my putting the lift in service since thu up button doesn't work. We didn't have a screw driver to open the door. This time when we went back the lift was broke. We were so pissed off, but luckily Jordan got the door shut on inspection, and it was Kone logic not recalling to lowest floor that saved the day. Kone service card is a right nasty thing that Kone have done. Building owners won't realise that they have been tricked until a year or two after changing service provider. Once the lift locks you only have access to is menu E (the logs) and one option in menu 5 (commencing). All the other settings are locked so you can't do anything with it. We slept in an abandoned building in Rugby. It was a bit scary but it was good as the heating was still on.
Interestingly access to both the lifts and stairs in this car park is now restricted to ticket holders only. Both are behind separate secure doors which require you to scan your car park tickets to pass through.
@@martindavis6115 It is owned by NCP who never maintain their properties. They let their sites get run down but continue to charge very high prices for parking. NCP used to own a chain of shopping centers but they closed down as they let they deteriorate to a point where they could no longer keep them open.
At least in Australia Kone don't/cannot use that 10,000 trip lockout practise because there are Kone TranSys Ecodiscs that have been maintained for a very long time by Schindler.
Very nice, there is a very similar looking disused office in Northampton, that is in exactly the same L shape, but above a shopping centre. It's being turned into student flats at some point, so soon would be a good time to go... :p
0:22, you can bypass those locks with a thin piece of metal, put it beside the third wheel and press up on the metal and down on the shackle at the same time, pull down on the shackle and open the lock, take metal from like the bottom of a principles can and cut it to the same shape as the outside of a big paperclip.
I used to work in it. It has been used for a number of things, it's been an independent college, a DVLA sub office and a bailiff/debt collection agency site. Last occupied around 2014.
There are companies that sell aftermarket reprogramming tools to unlock kone logic. I have heard of this practice before, which is just clever client binding. I guess it's a deterrent from generic companies messing about with their lifts. Of course their stuff is propertairy but not as closed as shindler. I guess you can compare it with car servicing by a dealer using geniune parts instead of a local chop shop using what ever whang hang low part they can get for a bargain price.
