You have got me thinking now. I have been making door linings from 25mm Moisture Resistant MDF. S*** that stuff is expensive! Maybe I will start using the non moisture resistant stuff (half the price) and use this to waterproof it - time to experiment I think. Thanks for the great video.

I’ve heard that UF glue isn’t the same as a normal formaldehyde in terms of toxicity, the main man at the place in Cheddar Gorge where they manufacture cascamite said that if you change chemical compositions of things they can become more or less toxic, so as it’s mixed with urea it’s not ‘dangerous’ he said that potentially pva could be considered more hazardous.

OK, I'm curious. Do you think this would go OK for MDF? I just replaced the top of a cheap WorkMate clone with a couple of bits of MDF as I had a bit lying about. I've thrown some varnish on to it, which the MDF drank like it was going out of fashion, but thinking that Cascamite or some other resin would give a harder / more resistant finish. Any thoughts on other resins that might work OK and be available around the Limousin?

No reason why it shouldn't work it certainly sticks to MDF... UREA glues are available in France but I only seen large quantities xx

Yeah, I was kind of afraid of the size thing, seems like the sort of stuff aimed more at professionals than rank amatuers like myself. I"ll maybe give a glace round a couple of the bricolage places around here and Brive or Malemort.
