I'd love to see a budget video, like learning to balance rewarding yourself for all your hard work in PA school while also tackling student loans and adult expenses!
I really appreciate your videos! They have helped me navigate as I finish up my last couple months of PA school. Quick question! Or this might be a good video for the future. How was your transition from a new graduate into working in Urgent Care? I want to work in UC or EM but am looking for a location that has at least 1 attending or another provider there during my shift. I just had an interview at a local UC clinic and was told that I would be the only provider there. Kind of scary for a new graduate but I would love to hear about your experience in UC as a new graduate :)
So glad you are back!! I am about to finish my first semester of PA school (anatomy is kicking my butt) but your videos always help me look forward to what comes next!
You have been inspiring me through all these videos. Congratulations & Great content !! Please keep making all such vlogs so we could learn what to expect as a PA-C
I was so happy to see that you posted!!! im currently a junior in hs and i already know my top 5 pa schools!!! i already have a some of my patient and shadowing hours!
Glad to see you back and in action! I start PA school this year and have been grounded by your videos lol! I would love for you to discuss your work/life balance so far
Thank you Dani for this informative video! I have been job hunting for a few months now and am considering an urgent care position as a new graduate PA! However, I have heard a lot of horror stories about the lack of supervision, liability, and improper/rushed training in the UC setting. How did you tackle this and do you always have an SP on-site with you? I was told my practice trains their PAs to become independent providers by their 6th-10th week of training and SPs will not be on-site 24/7, but they can be reached via phone. Is your practice similar? If so, do you believe it is doable or highly risky? I would appreciate any tips!!
Good video, the best decision I made as a physician assistant was to create a side hustle for extra income streams. It has really helped me and my family financially stable.
@Maria Bryant I made a couple of investments but my investment in forex and crypto has been yielding good profits and I don't think of stopping anytime soon. Investment is key.
@Maria Bryant I had similar experience until I met Timothy Scott Taylor my FA, investment or trading is not what you do without proper guidance. He handles all my investment and trading activities and makes sure my portfolio is diversified into various sectors of the market.
Hi Dani! Loved your video as always! I was wondering where your sports bra is from? It's super cute! (the beige one that you wore under your scrubs) Thank you! :)
Hey, I loved the video! I was actually looking going into EC as a PA, but was curious how the whole situation between you and the supervising physician worked? Do you find yourself working with mostly autonomy, or do you work closely with them?
@@LiveOutLoud87 I have a question. Before you applied to PA school, what job or volunteering did you get for your required hours? I’m currently volunteering but I might apply as an EKG tech to do my hours.
The amount of character development from being a PA student to a now licensed urgent care PA is astonishing. Healthcare have really changed your aura, demeanor and personality.
Great video by the way. I am an unemployed PA-C (two years). I loved taking care of Px during my ER clinical rotations. Getting pertinent info, cleaning woundss, anesthizing wounds and suturing were my favorites. I remembered having a suicidal 20 y/o female Px who cut herself with broken ceramic on the left ant. forearm from the radial wrist diagonally up to the elbow (ulna side). I remembered speaking to her with innate compassion and empathy 🙏. Just finished paying off part of my student loans (amazon, ubereats and doordash deliveries). Luckily as an engineer and self taught car repair guy, i fix my car to keep the overhead down 🙏. Poverty is no joke. Where I am, it is highly competitive to find a PA position. I currently volunteer at a pediatrician office doing MA stuff. He can't afford ro hire me but will give me a high recommendation . He is a great doctor because he is extremely nice and works the low income communities 😊
I would love to see a Q&A post about working as a new grad PA and challenges you have found, your relationships with your team, and common things you see on a day-to-day basis!
yay I've been waiting for you to post! I'm so excited for you! my goal is to be a pa as well, I am currently working towards it. currently I think my goal might be derm but it might change while I am in pa school so I'll just have to wait and see!
Hi, Im sorry, but your suture technique is incorrect. Try to pull the suture in direction of the wound to knot correctly. Greetings from Germany, Dr. C, MD
I'm an Urgent Care PA too. Practicing about 11 months now. Do you get patient's that question your knowledge or credibility when you're not wearing a white coat? I just so happened to notice that when I'm not in my white coat, I find that I have to reiterate the things I counsel patients. It's as if they don't trust what I'm saying. I'm probably over-thinking it, but I've been wearing my white coat more often now cause I just don't have the time to sit there and repeat myself 3 times when wait times are almost 2 hours hahaha
Hey, Danny! I love your videos a whole lot. I’m currently in college and pursuing the PA path. However, could you address how to deal with imposter syndrome? I personally feel like I’ll never get to my goal, & it seems soooo far away🥺
Also work in an UC as a R.T.(R). I've been there for almost 2 years now. Love my job and coworkers. The P.A. there has bestowed tons of knowledge upon me and wants me to go back for P.A. I am 41, have 2 young kids, and a new home, which makes the thought of going back to school seem impossible. I have mulled over it for a few months and decided against it. Glad I found your channel. Awesome content. By the way, we need another P.A. here!
the irony of this 😂 nothing in America is free 🌚💔 everything is expensive especially the health care I was in it in the past good lord she was horrific
I’m starting a UC position this October. They have single provider clinics as well as multiple provider clinics. My question is what is your typical pt volume. They expect 3-4 pts per hour which can seem daunting for a new grad. Any tips to make the transition a bit smoother would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
I just loved your channel and your edition! Inspired me so much! I am from brazil and I'm half way to be a doctor 2! Stay strong, we're getting there 🤍
Really enjoy watching your videos! This is random, but do you know where you got that pink tumbler from? I think you put a smoothie in it during your meal prepping! (:
Where are your black Scrubs with the (rose gold??) detailing from?! I work in healthcare and its so hard finding cute scrubs like those! Would love to get myself a pair!!
Hello! Question, is there any way you could outline the classes you took in nova? I want to apply there I am wondering what your undergrad classes were and the pre pa program that’s available there. Thank you so much
I think I would LOVE urgent care!!! Thank you for sharing this! I hope I’m an amazing PA. I literally read up on everything I can when I have time in undergrad.
Wow, its been that long sense your last video, time is moving so fast. Congrats on the job and the DOT! I'm curious as to what your responses have been when you come in Vs A doctor. I personally love getting a PA because they feel so much more chill and caring. I know there are 30 and 15 minutes appointments but still, PA's are Shezzit lol.
