what do you think about the keto diet for non-diabetics? it's too hard for me to get into Ketosis... I do the diet the right way and I can barely hit 1.0 of ketosis.
My bloodwork came back for ketone was +1 abnormal also my uric acid was 9.4 high, last blood work was 8.2. I told my doctor I was fasting for 80 hours when the bloodwork was taken. Doctor prescribed metaformin and ruvastabin. I am not taking the metaformin. How much would these results be from my fasting. Thanks
I honestly disagree with some parts. I mean, low carbohydrate diets featuring ketosis even with adequate food and neutral nitrogene balance are old news at this point. Further, some patients can show urine ketones in pregnancy. Also, the brain will use ketones, when they are around and the relevant enzymes are avialable in high enough numbers. Not only when there is no glucose (I mean, no glucose = death). Assuming, the more biochemical stuff (hepatic oxalacetate depletion and such) is in your metabolism course.
Since in most instances of ketonuria, acetone, diacetic acid and beta hydrooxybutric acid all are excreted in urine. Nitroptusside used in this test reacts with both a acetone and acetoacetic acid in the presence of alkali (ammonium hydroxide).ketonuria is also found in prolong fasting.
