Every nation already does this to some degree. Many All Blacks/Wallabies could play for their respective pacific island nations of origin, many US Eagles are dual citizens, James Lowe for Ireland. The list is endless, it's just obvious when Japan does it because they're such an ethnically homogenous nation outside of rugby.

The IRB is chasing money now......and so they want to allow teams to buy their talent now. Japan need to sort out their line calls. I have watched a lot of japanese games and their line out calls have to be the most complicated of any team. It's a topic of discussion in every game. They lose too many of their own line outs because they are so complicated so why they haven't simplified the calls by now, is mind boggling
Since Uruguay has classified for the RWC they have to play the most international rugby matches to tests all the squad so half was in Japan and the other at home to face Rumania. Uruguay is tiny rugby country so they dont have a B Team like SA or Arg

Correct, NZ is a pacific island. A large majority of national players with Samoan, Tongan, Fijian heritage are born here or move before school age. Apia population - 35000, Auckland Samoan community 120000. People forget that we are an island nation.

What a travesty "Japan" played with a starting lineup of 8 foreigners out of 15 players... Test matches between nations lose any sense when the teams are full of foreign rented players and just a reflection of the size of the wallets.
