Uryu Ishida vs Mayuri Full Fight English Sub 

The fact that this early ishida nearly killed mayuri (he could if he want) really makes the captains struggle on tybw made a lot more sense

Damn looking back now, ishida was the first person on screen to defeat a bankai

Of all the supporting cast, only Ishida and Ichigo could match a captain. It really set the two of them apart, as well as established that Quincy's could be very legit threats to Soul Reapers.

This will always be one of my favorite battles in the entire franchise. The suspense leading to the battle, the reveals, the emotions and the action. Just spectacular.

You have to remember that Mayuri at this time, was way more focused on his scientific research than fights. Soul Society hadn't seen a threat even close to Ishida in who knowns how long. But as always, he had a back up plan, and you have to remember ever since this fight, Mayuri himself has been unstoppable.

Forgot how evil Mayuri was. Soul Society should’ve put him back in the cage that Urahara got him from.

Imagine that Soken didnt leave the Wandenreich and taught Uryu how to use Blut, bankai stealing, Vollständig and Ransōtengai 💀💀

This has to be one of my favorite moments in the Soul Society arc. The threat of a captain. Uryu using Letz Stil, animation is good for the time and the OST made this a scene to remember!

Considering that inexperienced uryu pretty much one shot a captain, TYBW makes a lot more sense considering most soul reapers just got dogwalked, quincy's are really just built different

damn Uryu will be my favorite quincy and especially this form i think really cool one , designed on another lvl, powers shown perfect . only time we see Uryu using threads and fight so wild, and man this damn arrow at the end... i love this form . this arrow and bow design more than reishi bows and other kido type attacks that he uses rest of anime and manga. i can surely say this is the moment when Uryu truly shine!

even though this was very early on in bleach because of this scene I had always considered or you to be one of the most underrated and strongest characters in bleach. This is still very early on and Uryu bout killed Mayuri

I can't believe the first Bankai seen in the series is THIS, a huge child/caterpillar/hellish nightmare. Made by THAT guy, who as soon as you see him you already want to wipe him off the face of the Soul Society. The fact that he was oneshotted though is… satisfying

You know what’s the worst thing about Bankai? That’s it was first introduced in an epic way just to be one-shotted by a Quincy while couldn’t even show anything

All this struggle against a single captain level enemy... and look how broken he's become at the current arc lol. Uryuu has gone a long way, I guess

Doesn't Letzt Stil look awfully similar to Mugetsu? And also functions in the same way? Unleash all of the potential power of the wielder and lose all power after using the technique. Both are "Final" and end up in "Loss". Also the reiatsu looks eerily similar too.

I wish most Quincy fought like that in tybw like instead of swords use like zellshneider(the sword arrow uryu uses sorry for my spelling) and use ransotengei like quilge opie

Mayuri was never really all that strong to begin with. He just knows to observe his enemies and gather as much information as possible, and let others go in as pawns and die in his endeavor of gathering said information, before stepping into the fight. I mean, hey, it's killed or be killed out there when you're battle hollows and quincies so do what you need to do. But when he has to fight an opponent without having first finding out their strengths and weaknesses, he almost always loses the upperhand.

The fact he destroys mayuris bankai is somewhat of a plot hole given we learn in TYBW that a broken bankai is irreparable

Even though there have been more powerful attacks in Bleach, the shot that should've killed Mayuri is still one ofy top 5 moments in Bleach. Such a personal and emotionally charged moment.

Is it just me or was the soul society arc really Messing up the power levels!? Like for some reason all the captains were really weak in this arc. I understand uryu vs mayuri cuz mayuri isn't really a fighter and uryu used that technique to emit a large amount of reiatsu for a short span like a temporary power up. But shikai ichigo beating zaraki without eyepach? 😭😭 Even if zaraki was subconsciously holding back, it's a bit weird that he beat him even without a bankai

I could only imagine how he's gonna somehow beat Senjumaru next cour.

What I never understood is why when all these huge surges of engery are being let loose all the captain don't just use flash step to get there in an instant and kill them, well beside plot armor lol but seriously a few lieutenants and captains are defeated by a handful of invaders ok next time they release energy just all jump them at once

Yamamoto have 10 trillions souls collected, also unohana is a cold blooded killer in the past... Yeah mayuri is pretty fcked up but... soul society and the gotein 13 aint that really good. They're just there to keep the balance. Mayuri even looks cute compared to what the other captains have done.(Yamamoto,Unohana,Zaraki,Aizen and all the OG captains from the past) Aizen manipulate and stabbed his own subordinates for sake of his work.. but as we can see people love aizen.. which is stupid because they hate mayuri when aizen is much more fcked up character with a god complex. Aizen is just more cooler than mayuri and maybe looking hot for some people, but he's still a fcked up character who people are always biased for.
