This video follows a basic training flight as they go through AF basic training. This is a video that a trainee could have bought after BMT to commemorate their time at BMT. I did not film or edit this video, this footage is from a BMT Graduation DvD I found at a thrift store

ABUs and web belts were the last tough BMT.

Funny how I was told the green fatigue days were the last tough BMT when I went through in 1990.

I agree. The MTI's had more intensity and the mind games were harder. After about 2015, things seemed to gradually soften for some reason. I'm glad I went through in 2008. Tough times make tough people. The Air Force of today would say this training is too aggressive. The tyrants in office today don't give a rat's ass for America, as long as they are filling their pockets.

@@spiderdoomHey maybe I saw you in basic in 2008, I was in the 331st training squadron I was there in July Go wolfpack lol. But yes it was much more yelling and getting your a$$ chewed out by the TI then it is now. It's a joke how they discipline them its like a summer sleep over camp nowadays lol! 😅😅

@@spiderdoom omg I thing we were in the same flight! My basic was from July 14th till August 22nd 2008. Remember Master Sargent Lopez? She was part of the 331st command group. She was in her late 20s or early 30s black hair light skin. she was hardcore she would yell at everyone getting off the lunch line when we would salute the command sargents sitting at their table before we were given permission to sit down and eat at the mess hall. There was also another older lady in charge with brown hair that would yell at all of us in the mess hall hardcore. Remember those fun times? Lol 😂

You remember this: The AF will take from you the most precious thing you have: You time. You must make it count. If you think the AF will take care of you just because you work hard and place duty above self. You must make sure that you get rewarded for you time and effort. When I joined up, there were so many 20 year E-5s and 23 year E-6s. Good troops who could not make the adjustment from promotion boards to testing. People need to plan their careers. Resign yourself to the fact that you are NEVER going to get paid what you are worth. A loyal, hard working troop is worth more than he or she can be paid. Service above self to country only goes so far when your kids need clothes, money for college or payment on a mortgage. Your wife will work and your kids will be at the mercy of local gangs. You will work part time to avoid this. Never lose sight of the fact that the AF think it comes first, you come last.

If you decide to join the USAF, be sure to practice your reporting statements before you go. I remember trainees saying, "Sir, Airman Smith reporting as ordered!" The MTI would freak out and yell, "REPORTING! REPORTING!!! WHAT ARE YOU, A G****** WEATHER REPORTER?!?" Had one guy that kept saying "reporting" and they made him give a proper reporting statement with a weather forecast several times a day.
