US Army vs Cuban Military | Red Dead Redemption 2 NPC Wars 91

Scenario: 1899, Guarma *Second Battle of Guarma* After the disastrous landing at Aguasdulces (First Battle of Guarma), the US Army sent troops to Guarma to conduct a daring operation. Their plan was to make a surprise attack on the other side of Guarma, flanking Cuban forces and capturing the main Cuban garrison at Aguasdulces by trekking 8 miles through the jungle. (0:10) The first landing occurred in the early morning, with about 100 troops trying to reach land by boat. However, the US troops encountered unexpected Cuban artillery and machine gun fire, which cut down nearly the entire wave before they could even reach the shore (1:18). The second wave was more successful, with about 50 men being able to land on a rocky beach to flank the Cuban machine guns on the ridge (2:21). The US soldiers faced a uphill battle, taking heavy casualties to silence the guns. The Americans were able to crest the ridge, but lacked the manpower to push into the jungle, which was crawling with the remaining Cuban defenders (4:26). 3 hours later, conditions worsened and a thunderstorm began (4:52). 150 Cuban reinforcements had made the treacherous march across the jungle from the garrison in Aguasdulces to take out the Americans (6:18). The Americans were beat back to the shoreline as a third wave arrived, although it had lost half of its men from the rough seas (8:15). The storm worsened and night fell, ending hostilities for the day. In the morning, surviving US troops were massacred on the beach by an overwhelming Cuban force (8:42). A rescue party (9:52) was sent to retrieve the men but the boats were sunk, leaving the troops stranded on the beach to be picked off by Cubans. Some soldiers managed to swim back out to sea to be saved by US navy ships. The Second Battle of Guarma ended in total defeat for US troops, with 70% casualties, with most men being shot, drowned, or captured by Cuban troops.

This really illustrates how costly it is to storm a beach like this. Also, I love how that one guy at the beginning jumps out of the boat *right* before the cannon hits his buddy.

My great grandfather died in the 1898 war in Cuba, in the spanish side. His daughter told to my father that she remembered go to Huelva port and see his father and the young soldiers taking the steamboat, she never saw his father again, very sad

I do remember the Guarma section being slightly harder than all the US military missions, I guess it's confirmed. Cuban military npcs are too over powered.

The potential is there, why are there no missions like this and cheat codes available in both PC and console versions is beyond me. You create a world with so many things and so much detail just to leave you the bare bones gameplay options to enjoy that world.

That one Cuban soldier who actually has the brass balls to throw the incoming Americans a stick of dynamite and charge them with the rifle feels real AF man, I was thinking for a sec that was you, the recorder, secretly playing him, but no its, its his AI. He's gone absolutely berserk. God imagine this level of AI in a game like GTA IV.

This feels like back in the day, a few dozen guys had some clothes, guns, and blank cartriges lying around, they found a nice beach, and so decided to shoot a little movie.

rdr3 should definitely have npc gangs or army battles as random occurrence
