Yes! I have been researching a lot about the extracurriculars but due to lack to info and support from schools I don't think I can even find one activity for me!! Ughh it's soooo hard!

@@littleangel1620 im a student from thailand and for extracurriculars i suggest finding some form of "problem" in that you are passionate about and forming a club/ngo to advocate and solve said problem. Many of my friends did human rights or things related to animals (eg stray dogs or illegal trading). Keep in mind many of thesr projects will span across years so its goid to start soon! Dont forget that your passions can also be turned into extracurriculars like competing or coaching sports. Idk this is just what people in my school do.

@@renataoms1314 thanks a lot for ur advice but can u pls instruct me or tell me some steps on how to form a club or something because in my school there is nothing like forming clubs or councils! Also apart from that I have been thinking of joining some sort of NGOs near me as soon as this pandemic situation ends. So if u have any sort of info or advice related to it that u can share with me pls do cz that would be great!

@@littleangel1620 it will rly depend on ur school culture and obviously, this is just a rough outline. 1. find a group of students who you trust and have a similar interest in the problem. Important that you trust them bc you will work with them for a while and it is not fun when someone tries to take more credit than others. Doing this by yourself is incredibly difficult 2. research the problem in more depth, is there something that the gov is doing? Is there already an organization in your area doing something? (if yes how do you differentiate yourself from that group). What are specific issues that face the group you are servicing? Who needs the most help. 3. this one is arguably the hardest and most confusing step, but yall need to start contacting people. Generally, this includes contacting a specific group that you are planning on helping and building a relationship with them and depends if you need to do this but maybe notify ur school? Contacting people for interviews might be an option as well depending on what you plan to do 4. Set goals regarding what you are going to do and within what time frame. This will help set up the pillars of the club (includes fundraisers, donation trips, social media presence). i know this is pretty vague but its how most people will start. Good luck with your club!

@@renataoms1314 oh that's a really informative and good idea but it's really hard to do also when u r alone, since I am not sure if my frnds would be interested in this. So i was thinking that since this is the first time when I m taking part in some u know, social interest activities, joining some NGOs would be a better option and then later when I'd be sure with what and how I want to form a group with my frnds then I would form a club. Would u pls share ur opinion on this? Also I would like to know how u formed or joined clubs, if u don't have any prob.

I can't think of a name do not be scared. I am an international student and got into Princeton. When I talked with my interviewer he also said the same thing but also said that I gained a huge advantage by actually doing the interview and showing myself as an interesting person in different parts of the application. I can't think of a name that may be so but what I’m trying to say is that you shouldn’t be scared just because you’re international. Just put your best foot forward, do everything on your reach and hope for the best. Best of luck to you

Hi. Yes, every student has to write essays. Each school will have different prompts and requirements. But mostly, essays are an ideal platform to showcase who you truly are, meaningful experiences you've had, why do you want to attend a certain school, your passions, ...

you definitely have an advantage because they don’t have to translate ur grades and u have access to ap courses. Just work really hard and do AP classes and visit lots of colleges and do community service

Hi there! FYI the most well endowed schools (schools that meet 100% of demonstrated need) will give you good financial aid. Unfortunately, most of those schools are also the most competitive (ivy leagues, UChicago, Northwestern, etc). On top of that, most schools in the US do withhold more aid from international students. That can be tough, especially at state schools like UCLA, UC Berkeley, etc. To resolve that issue, I’d recommend looking into US schools that typically have a lot of merit scholarships, like USC or the George Washington University! I recommend researching these 100% demonstrated need schools and high scholarship schools!

What is an ap?

Yes, you can take AP exams. But in India we don't have AP classes, so you have to self study all the syllabus. I recommend to take AP exams after 12th board exams because the syllabus is pretty similar.

You can use Khan academy for the SAT. I dont know anything about the other tests. Good luck !

You might have to go out of your way to find a extracurricular activity that you like. You can also start a club at your school, based on the interests that you or ur friends may have. Schools like Stanford love entrepreneurs who start new things, so that may be a plus point in your application. However, remember to create/participate in a club that you enjoy, and not one that you think will help you get into a good college.

Ok so Harvard admissions gets that ur school doesn’t have clubs and advanced classes and they don’t want u to unconvince urself for that so its fine. Just Ig u should mention that ur school doesn’t offer this stuff or they might think that u don’t have the capacity

Same in my case, I'm a grade 10 student and my school has no clubs or anything like that. But it did play for the school football team. Is that something I can include, even though we never made I to the finals.?

same. I’m from england but i rlly want to study in the US but i can’t afford british uni and that’s cheaper. I want to know about scholarships but there doesn’t seem to be lots on offer for me, idk about you though because i think there might be more for indians as a high amount of international students are from india
