An unofficial US delegation is in Taiwan after the the historic election victory by Lai Ching-te, a candidate openly loathed by Beijing. Two former senior US officials have reaffirmed that relations between the United States and Taiwan are "rock-solid," as they congratulated Taiwan on its electoral process during a meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen on Monday. The delegation consists of former national security advisor Stephen Hadley and former deputy secretary of state James Steinberg who traveled to Taiwan in their private capacity. The unofficial visit could complicate efforts by the US and China to stabilize a strained relationship. CNN's Kristie Lu Stout reports.
