Two problems, U.S. President George Bush removed almost all tactical (non-strategic) nuclear forces from deployment so that Russia could undertake similar actions, reducing the risk of nukes (small and large). Secondly, these small, shorter-range, lower-yield weapons that are not subject to any treaty limits! Scary thought!

Self defence ??? The people in the eastern parts of Ukraine are mostly Russians and if they want to remain with Russia one cannot impose on them to be Ukrainian. The Russians are doing the same as what Britain, the US, Germans have done in the past - changing the demographics of other continents and countries, i.e. Ireland, North America, Australia, New Zealand, the Falklands, the State of Texas, the Sudetenland etc ...
