Thank you so much man!! That means a lot! I’m trying to do that with all my videos because I know some people are new to the gun community, and really want to try and steer them in the right direction. This channel started because I kept seeing airsoft sights on real ar-15’s! Thanks again for the compliment! Glad you enjoyed!

Similar to my setup, I use a 16in geissele super duty with surefire flash hider, acog with holosun 509tx2 as my backup using the metal magpul iron sights, magpul forgrip and magpul sling. I don't have any ir or night vision yet but I'm eventually going to get some my next step is a surefire can.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
Geissele makes awesome everything! I have a buddy I was in with who has that same upper and I would definitely build another AR with that upper in the future! Yeah I’m setting money aside for an rc2 or rc3 can right now! That’s dope! Are you running a 1point or 2 point sling?

I went with a door gunner super AR17 with a 33" plastic barrel, with 5 optics on it, two is one, one is none, five keeps you alive! I went with a special forces trigger, and I don't even have to touch it and I can acuate it with my breath! I used a Star Wars Vader ambidexter-russ lever which always me to use my left or right big toe to drop the magazine. So yeah, that's my basic setup, drive on "Selzer-Fire" Marine!

Looks really solid man very cool. Just a reminder for new rifle owners, Before you buy anything to set up your rifle, make sure it runs how it should folks. Go run a thousand rounds as long as that takes financially everyones different and ammo and range time is expensive. If it is flawless for that duration you have a solid rifle. If it fails upgrade those failure points until your rifle is completely and undeniably reliable. It has to be reliable above all else. Lights optics lasers and paint dont matter when your weapon cant run 6 mags fast and hard without a hiccup. Owning and shooting the same rifle for ten years has really shown me good a quality and simple build is more effective/capable than ill ever be.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
Yes very good points. This was my first build I did about 4 years ago now and probably approaching 6000 rounds through it. This gun looks and acts completely different than it did 4 years ago. And like you said if your weapon isn’t running flawlessly then there’s an issue somewhere and it needs to be resolved. Also, for you beginners you probably don’t need half the stuff on my rifle. Just because you get what I have doesn’t enhance your ability to shoot like I do, if you’re already a poor shooter. Start simple with builds and training and work up to where you can run and gun in all aspects. But like @theccwdad if your gun can’t run 6 mags everything else is pointless. And I’ll even take it further if you don’t know how to employ or use the things you’re adding that’s pointless as well.

Nice set up. The only thing I’d change is to put the back up red dot at 12:00 so it’s easier to passive aim under NODs. It’s too hard for me to line up a rifle with nightvision with it at 45° very fast.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
Yeah that’s definitely an option. For me I don’t use my sight when using night vision. I kind of half shoulder it, and use the pec as my point of aim. But I get what you’re saying though, running nods and having to cant the gun will take up time if you’re using your sights.
@Heywoodthepeckerwood
@Heywoodthepeckerwood 5 месяцев назад
@@Mrbodangles247 at the risk of telling you your business. I would seriously look into using passive aiming in the US. the military doesn’t really train it because our military hasn’t faced a near peer enemy that had the same tech as our marines and soldiers. The problem with being in the US is that there are people with night vision everywhere here and only relying on active aiming is like shining a white light all over without knowing who’s out there. Again, I’m not being critical of your system and don’t take it as a dig on military training but I believe things will be quite different for us if SHTF stateside. Also, I appreciate your interaction with the comment section. Sub’d.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
No dude, not critical at all. This is the one reason I wanted to start this channel was to open up dialogue on all these subjects. I agree with you though, I think having multiple tools in your arsenal when the SHTF is crucial. I think you bring up some good points. I’m trying to find a range that will allow me to shoot at night. But I definitely think it’s worth making a video about. Thanks for the sub man, glad you’re enjoying the content!!🤙🏽🤙🏽

@@Mrbodangles247 I pretty much rolled the same way. I found it easy to quickly cant my rifle and pick up my target be it an offset red dot or offset irons. It was just super natural for me. Then I started getting a feel about how many people these days have some form of NV, even if it's some cheap sightmark or whatever from Shamazon, an IR laser even with cheap nods makes an excellent aiming point. So that got me going down the passive IR. I'm looking at a 1.93" optic mount to raise my LPVO up, and a 12 o'clock mount for my RMR. Not cheap, but one point to make there, is your optic mount is pretty important. I'm old school and I don't run anything but QD mounts that I've proved to myself are an RTZ mount so if I needed or HAD to pop my optic off, I know remounting it, that it's going to hold zero. I agree with Heywood, it's probably worth looking into. Getting some kind of NV or thermal these days, are as important of a capability as having a solid weapon. He who owns the night owns the fight. I think somebody said that and it makes sense. When I was Soldierin' my nods were nothing like today's PVS-14, but even so as you probably know seeing at night is a game changer. Digging the channel Marine brother.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
Yeah the only optic I run as is is my acog. All my other red dot sights I run at 1.93" just because when I I bring my rifle up it's exactly at eye level and I don't need to shrug down or do anything weird. I'll definitely look into passive aiming and try it out though. Trying to find a range that allows shooting at night is almost impossible which is insane to me.

@@Mrbodangles247 No problem. I also agree with your statement about consistent builds, I use that same mindset when I built my chest rigs and plate carriers, as much as possible anyway. At least for the key things like my IFAK, mag pouches and radios, PTT etc. so what’s next??
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
Yeah dude, I feel like when you setup everything the same way it makes transferring between items a lot easier. I have 3 plate carriers and although they’re all different their all setup identical just like my rifles to where I could pick up any and not have to worry about things being out of place or feeling weird. I mean in the heat of the moment all those come into play and could save precious time. I know my unit we had everything setup the same way on our plate carries just in case one of us went down we knew without thinking where things were. I have a maintenance video coming out tomorrow. I’m trying to finish up I think 3 videos for May. Basic One man room clearing, an overview of my main plate carrier and setting up a carrier, and I’m trying to finish up some shooting drill videos. @@Mrbodangles247 I hear you bro. I started a deal called BLUF Reviews - you know BLUF - Bottom Line Up Front, and I basically was reviewing lesser known brands, that were still solid as the name brand stuff, or reviewing stuff that I were kind of non-negotiable for me when I built a rifle or built kit. Stuff that's tried and true downrange and the quality is obvious. I'm old school so I had a slick PC and then built different chest rigs for different applications. Low vis, AR-10 rig, Recon rig, full combat load out rig, truck rig. Well you get the idea. Then I went ahead and built a PC using Beez Combat Systems APTUM plate bags, pouches, whole 9 yards. Beez even built a radio pouch for Baofeng radios bc I was telling him about a group I was doing some training with and some of these people had never owned an AR much less any kind of kit. It's def. tier 1 level quality as far as kit goes. Looking forward to the other videos. I think a lot of content creators kind of forget the people who are knew to this "world" that you and I are really comfortable in, and know what's what. They also recommend stuff without even using it and I don't mean putting your plate carrier on for pics for social media. I made changes to my first chest rig probably the first 5-6 times I went out training. not flat range, but run n gun training where you quickly find out "this shit ain't working!!!" lol sorry for the long post, but I am passionate about having the right kit and the right gun for the right application. Said all that to say I think you're hitting a sweet spot and it's needed. I'll keep checking out your content and keep ya honest. ;-)

Oh yeah dude I love those type of videos, have found a lot of good stuff through those. You should look into Meshtastic. I found that off one of those reviews, still trying to really get my hands around it. Basically it’s like a mesh network system, fairly cheap to run. But yeah you have the same idea as me I have multiple loadouts, and different placards that are interchangeable. I like having something in the truck, home and just a spare. But yeah dude keep me honest man, the whole reason for me doing this channel is to help out anyone who needs it with good factual information or just my experience with things through combat. I want to lead people to water not further into the desert! 🤣

Pointing a flashlight at someone with a weapon connected to it is 'assault with a deadly weapon' in my state (Commiefornia). Having said that, I have lights on my pistols and rifles, just be aware in how you employ them. If you're shooting prone off a bag, which since you're lacking a bipod I don't think you are, that buttstock may not be a good choice. I've seen a shooting bag interfere with and depress the lever causing the rifle scope to smack the shooter in the face on recoil.

Yeah I used to live in California, moved last year to freedom country! lol 😂 Yeah all my AR’s are battle rifles. I don’t have any bag guns yet. Supposed to be getting a 1943 mosin shortly but not sure when, that’ll be my bag gun. 😂 Im also in the process of building an AR10 but that will have a fixed buttstock. I’m kind of curious what buttstock you saw? I had a milspec M4 buttstock and that thing was banged and thrown against things all over Helmand without it ever depressing. Let me know if you rember and I’ll do some research.

I like everything except your choice of Flashhider. If you are using a suppressor with that hider does not create a good seal and hence you will have gas leakage.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 5 месяцев назад
Do you mind me asking how so? Where would the gas be leaking from? I’ve never had an issue shooting surefire RC2 suppressors on this rifle. The surefire Warcomp is specifically made to lock and pair with surefire RC2’s and RC3’s now. I guess I’m just curious what you’re talking about as far as gas leakage?

@@Mrbodangles247 creating a seal so gas does not escape
@Mrbodangles247

@princetonazp
@princetonazp 5 месяцев назад
Pewscience has specifically looked at the difference between the Warcomp and a MD with a labyrinth seal like the 3 prong. Warcomp has been shown to be louder both at muzzle and ear because of leakage. Also contributes to carbon locking.

What barrel is it? Is it a complete Aero Precision upper? So most usually if you have to run captured trigger pins the lower is out of spec. I had a Colt lower that I ran KNS pins because it was out of spec. You can get bad in anything. Every other Colt, BCM and Sionics lowers I have, the pins don't walk. I'm a big fan of vetted companies when it comes to rifles. In most police cruisers you'll find a Colt 6920. My city and county SWAT teams all run 6933 FBI contract uppers on Colt lowers. And 6920's in the cruisers. Both Sons of Liberty Gunworks and Sionics has a long list of police contracts. Sionics makes my favorite stuff. Their 5.56 chambered, 1/8 twist, chrome lined barrels are money. I'm a fan of 1/8 twist as a civ. Because 55gr is most plentiful. And 1/8 doesn't over stabilize it. I'm also a fan of chrome lined barrels over QPQ or Nitride. (They are not the same process. The end result is supposed to be the same. QPQ is a hotter process and supposed harden the surface area a little deeper.) I believe them to be inferior to chrome lining. And the barrel material itself. A lot of these aftermarket barrel manufacturers run a lot of 4150 resulpherized steel. 11595E mil cert is not resulpherized. There is 4150 CMV that isn't resulpherized. But doesn't have the cert that companies run. But telling who is what. And what is who. Is part of the BS in the AR15 market place. SOLGW and BCM tell you they have the 11595E certification. Sionics run Green Mountain blanks. Green Mountain runs the 11595E cert. But Sionics just says 4150cmv Confusing I know. One of the guys that started Sionics, Will Larson. Now passed on. He had his own Armorers course. Semper Parratus. I went to 2 of his courses. At Sons of Liberty Gunworks in San Antonio. You should go to a SOLGW course if you have the opportunity. Or a SOTAR course. Eye opening. I'm a Marine too. 2 tours Afghanistan. 0311/8541. After 11 years and a training accident... Out on my ass. I never was able to do the 8541 dealio in the wilds. I ended up going to SOTG, to be a Guinea Pig. Was big mad. In 98 or 99 I was training on that POS M14 DMR. And then that POS M39. That weighed as much as a M249. Into the SAM-R and Mk12 projects. Then off to 7th Marines. Started out with I-Co 3/1. Into 2/1. I remember when 2/1 was getting those carry handle ACOGS. I never trained on one. But a few buddies did. They told me it was going to be a game changer. For the Infantry. And they were right. When the A4 was officially adopted those ACOGS disappeared. And the TA31's appeared. Now as a civ. I have been to said named Armorer courses. Twice to Gunsite to train with my former XO Freddy Blish. And have a neighbor that trains square range theatrics for LE and civs. Army turd. He's a security chief at a NASA site. And is former NY state trooper. That had a heart attack on the job. Fat paid. I'm also the proud uncle of a 0321 Recon Marine. 🙂 He did his four. And got out. Made the indoc out of SOI. And he's a little squirt. Like 5'9 175. Me 6'2 215 in my prime. But he's hard as nails. Good kid. I subscribbed. I support Marine content.

Hey man thanks for the sub, but more importantly thanks for sharing this with me! This is the exact reason I wanted to start making videos, was to start dialogues within the community about these subjects. I’m going to try and answer everything so in case I don’t I apologize! 🤙🏽 So this was my first build, it started as an aero complete upper. I later changed it to a Ballistic advantage government profile barrel. So yeah the lower and upper don’t match, and that’s the reason for the pins and the earplug in the lower lol! Aero’s lowers all have set screws in them. I have another build that is all aero and it shoots like a dream. I’m an advocate for vetted companies so I know exactly what you mean. I tend to stick to companies I know have proven themselves in combat. I believe the barrel I have is chrome lined but I could be mistaken it’s been probably 3 years since I switched the barrel out. And this gun has been the one in my collection that has undergone the most upgrades. I feel now it is at a point where I don’t have to do anything on it. What years were you in Afghanistan? I assume initial push in? I was there in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 in Helmand province. I was an 0313/0311. Also, I’m thinking about making a DMR rifle but probably more towards .308 or 6.5 creed still doing research though. Well Semper Fi to you and your nephew!

Will was definitely knowledgeable. The Sionics bolt completion kit was one of the best improvements to a BCG you could make. SOLGW is down the road from me and they are solid as solid gets. My Guy, why you copying me. Been running a set up like this for the last 3 years. Minus the acog. Went with a eotech exps 3-4 and a g3 magnifier, steiner dbal I2. But mine being a old colt lower from 2011 pretty much the same thing. Oh and im that old school im also still running a modified redi-mag. If you young devildogs even know what that is lol If you want to get rid of that gap/snag issue with your surefire look at Inline Scout Pro Mount by Arisaka.
@Mrbodangles247
@Mrbodangles247 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the tip on the Arisaka inline mount, I think I have one floating around somewhere in my parts. But yeah that definitely will work for the snag. Yeah I’ve been running this for about 3 years as well. There’s a couple things I would change on it but overall it’s been solid. I haven’t zeroed this one in 3 years and it’s been running amazing. I’ll probably end up zeroing this next week to really see and probably end up making a video for the newcomers on zeroing. I was going to first go with the eotech and magnifier, but I spent more time when I was in The Marines with an acog so I chose that just because of comfortability. Also that’s why I chose the pec15 over the dbal just because I know how to zero it and shoot with it. I’m thinking of getting a dbal for another AR I have just so I can learn it, and see how it shoots.

@@LTymeEdits Yeah I think I could do something like that, at least the preparation part. Might have a hard time finding a swamp or lake to film it. But I definitely will try to plan this out and add it to the list because it is a great idea. I haven’t seen any videos with the topic point yet.

@@Mrbodangles247 For sure :) The Preparation part is probably the most useful :) Anyway, keep it up man

I live alone. Unless I have a guest that is staying the night; which is rare, anyone that is not me anytime whether daytime or at night is an intruder and there is less need to "identify" the target. I say less need because I'd still need to "see" my target to mitigate risk of missing and having my rounds exit my house and into someone else's home.

Yeah understandable. But would you rather be in a situation where you need a light and don’t have it? Or have it and not need it?

@@Mrbodangles247 I currently have a S&W FPC and it's setup with a Holosun AEMS RDS with a Green reticle and an Olight WML. And yes, I'm well aware of the disdain and hatred that many Surefire snobs among others have for that brand. Although I'll probably get flamed/roasted for admitting that, but I couldn't give a flying F about what others think about it. Regardless, whether to add a RDS or a WML first is a moot point because I already have both.

@@ecobasetech4558 hahah got it dude! I love surefire, but I would say any light is a good light except Amazon stuff. But I would run the rds with a light for sure! Hope that helps! 🤙🏽

You can’t buy that laser without being military, law enforcement, or contractor.

Correct, however you can buy the civilian version. The only difference between the two are their power settings and with the civilian version you can’t adjust the IR illuminator. I put the link to the civilian version in the description though. 🤙🏽

Simply not true. Lots of FP peq15s floating around. Whether or not you would be able to warranty the item is a different story, but tons of them floating around "gray" market. Also plenty of dudes who were optics techs than can perform services to refresh your device if you're worried about sending back to manufacturer.

You can find them on the grey market. I own 3 of them.
