1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd MARDIV in combat operations in May 1968. General Ray Davis, 3rd MARDIV Commanding, attends the dedication of the Robert R. Brett Memorial Chapel. Catholic Chaplain Brett of the 2nd Bn. 26th Marines was killed by enemy mortar fire February 26, 1968 at the Khe Sanh Marine Combat Base.

I was with 1st Bde 5th IFD(mech) Army, attatched to 3rd Marine Division Quang Tri 68/69 I have always admired those Marines and always took there ribbing lovingly.
