By sandwitching the flameless ration heater between two retorts, you assured that the water you added could not reach the heating element. You would want the heater at the bottom where it would be covered by the water. That will generate very hot steam and the steam will heat both retorts. Splenda is not made of 'artificial' ingredients. It is made with Stevia and Erythritol. Stevia is an extract of the Stevia plant. Erythritol is made primarily from fermented dextrose.

My Menu 2 shredded beef in barbecue sauce is totally different. I got Shredded Beef in bbq sauce, apple strawberry and carrot purée, choc hazelnut protein drink, jalapeño cheese spread, plain tortilla and a cinnamon bun. Weird combo.

Nice cover photo , for intro, LOL . Sweet ration, Sweet Knife. I used to own A WWII version, however, it is long gone. 2 cookies, you won the lottery, lol. they are good. I agree on cheese spread. My luck on FRH'S lately, has been bad. I know It's cheating, but, instead of wasting time, since I Can't edit and splice, I just heat in boiling water. Guaranteed no fail, unlike my luck on MRE'S, LOL. A lot of food, agreed. I thought the same, Dane. Great ration and review friend! These are excellent rations! Always awesome to have an extra oatmeal cookie on hand for when you get one of the cherry/blueberry cobblers. Those menus usually come with a cookie as well, but often it is a chocolate chip. Not NEARLY as good as the oatmeal, crumbled on the cobbler. I think that's one of the best US MRE desserts. I like the BBQ, but it's not real high on my list. Too saucy, too sweet. I did take one of these once and use it with potato skins. Air fried with corn and cheese, then a little sour cream at the end. They were yum. Another awesome review, thank you! -Zed

I have several Ka Bar knives but seriously you shouldn’t need it to open an MRE and even if you did have trouble it would be easier and much more safe to use a smaller spring assisted knife. Using an oversized knife for a small job is a really good and easy way to get cut badly. I would spread my jalapeño cheese over my tortilla then add my black beans to it and fold it over into a burrito! Which I think would be even more tasty and a better use of what is given. I think that was the main idea of including the tortillas in the first place but that sounds great to me! The only thing that bothers me is that there were no matches in the accessory bag which is kind of a skimp and a drag. They even used to include small emergency candles and waterproof matches or a fire starting ferro rod. I don’t know why they cut the useful stuff out of the accessory bags these days. It’s difficult to find an MRE producer that gives you useful stuff in your accessory area. Excellent video though! 👍👍👍
