That is actually very close. The Chinese ship is about 1-2 kms. away. With such big ships that might as well be being beside it. Considering also these aren't commercial vessels but actual warships, then you know this is a very close call.

In addition, the Ship may change course if necessary. A minimal change would suffice. Made a drama out of a little thing.
