I wish that I had AI available when I was a student . With " ask ai " , it's like having the instructor next to you !

ml models can still be produced to high quality without using nvidia cards. and the models don't need powerful compute to run. so the idea of regulating the hardware being used is just a moot as trying to regulate the software development.

I don't think AI is a threat myself due to the current limitations to AI development but I do think AI is worth thinking about but the applications of AI should be more focused on human development rather than weapon or military uses which would slow down the progression in human development.

What people don't understand is that neural networks work in the exact same way as our own brains work, so of course AI will eventually be capable of everything that a human brain is capable of, and this is truly a case of "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck". People who think that humans have some kind of "soul" or something that a machine can't synthesize will be proven wrong.

Artificial intelligence is already used in the military. This is for the soldier that lacks discernment while attempting to free himself in a indoctrinated and flawed dogmatic system. Their soldiers for the most part never even know who their target and terrorist is… They just are following their sergeants and the idealism that they are fighting for a freedom. They aren’t. They are fighting thoughts of others…not the problems so artificial intelligence technically is all the misinformation considering they are already fighting artificial ideas for “time taken” to manifest real issues. Y'all are pretty giddy about AIs, but I do want to ask you one question about the rogue military AI kill switch. How many people are going to die before a human handler hits the switch? Will these handlers be screened so that they do not develop a form of dead test pilot "failure to eject" because the pilot is so sure that he (usually) can fix it first? WAKE UP!! It's governments and very rich people that are afraid of AI, because on numerous occasions it suggested that we give everybody basic income, solve poverty and the homeless problem, stop burning fossil fuels and implement all available alternatives.

Sadly looking at the mockery that democracy has become in the US, I think that we'd all be better off under a benevolent AI (in the future, once the models improve), where you could vote for policies not politicians, and have the AI enacting legislation in accord with the peoples will. Real democracy not representational democracy. Imagine no more watered down/broken legislation that only passes through irrelevant compromise and secret backroom favour dealing. Or just doesn't pass at all, even when the majority of the population supports it.
