Their support is a political, not an economic decision. However, the economy in China is still not good, and whatever about inflation/deflation, many families have been affected by the property slump. Privately, many people question the leadership. An economic war with the US and the EU is the last thing that the Chinese leadership needs, and that is why they will ditch Russia; because the economic case and the political case align. I visit China occasionally, and in the last two years I am commonly assumed to be a Russian, rather than a “Westerner”, and funnily enough the reception can be a little frosty until I explain that I am European. Take from that what you will.

NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a political and military alliance of 32 countries in Europe and North America. The next administration would do well to propose a full-fledged Pacific Security Alliance, with Asian members carrying full economic and personnel burden-sharing. The future Asian security organization should be supported by U.S. global-reach aerial transportation and intelligence capabilities, naval operational prowess and space-based reconnaissance capabilities

For China to prioritize its relationship with Russia over its economic relationships with NATO countries, Japan, Australia, South Korea and New Zealand would be extremely illogical. The size of Russia's economy is tiny compared to the collective size of the economies of all those countries. One can't help notice that China has recently been making efforts to make deals with Qatar to get more natural gas from Qatar (not Russia) and to get more oil from Saudi Arabia (not Russia) and to get more coal from domestic Chinese production (not Russia). It seems that China is nervous about relying too much on trade with Russia even if trade between the two countries has increased since February 2022.

None of this applies to the common man this is rich boys pockets they are tinkering with. It's about who gets to line their pockets at our expense. I'd rather Russia get dealt the f out until they cease hostilities. Russia had a seat at our tables and pissed it away for a land grab cause the Duma wanted beachfront properties. When they took Crimea they thought Ukraine was open season cause the US did nothing. They were talking about Alaska as "historical Russian lands like Crimea". These people thought they were going there next. The old people were right you have to stand up against commies.

Great analysis, I have not seen anyone talk about Chinese banking Transactions. Do you think this could lead to Russia's War economy breaking? Or does it take longer/more than that to effect it?

China: hey pal Russia: hey life-long partner without limits (note, some exceptions apply such as actually doing anything inconvenient to help the other guy. But if you're buying gas, we're selling it) China: someone should stand up to these Western powers with their laws, treaties, elections, and human rights Russia: you mean rewrite facts on the ground. I like it! But isn't it risky? China: Not even a little bit risky. We need to show them who's boss Russia: yeah. We'll show them! China and... Russia: And? China: you should go first. But we are totally with you in spirit.

GDP isn't a great indicator of an economy. We are more like 80-90x the economy of russia. A country can for example sell everything they have for 1% profit and another country with the same GDP can sell for 50% profit and those economies look nothing alike in reality.

I beg to differ with your concept of inflation from government numbers! In reality on the street, gas prices are high food prices are through the roof. Every commodity is expensive, so no when the rubber hits the road it’s still high inflation along with the housing market, which is going to cry down the drain dude the economy is not doing well, seriously!
