President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. today (September 6th, 2023) announced the designation of a Presidential Delegation to Germany to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games on Saturday, September 9, 2023 by Gulfstream C-37B 09-0525. More than 550 wounded servicemembers will represent 21 nations in 10 adaptive sports at the Invictus Games.
The Honorable Bill Nelson, NASA Administrator, will lead the delegation.

The German Air Force helicopters played a pivotal role during the visit of German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius to the German city of Duesseldorf on Saturday the 9th of September 2023. This visit was centered around the opening of the Invictus Games, a prestigious competition designed for wounded, injured, and ill service personnel and veterans. It marked the first time, this event was held in Germany.
Prince Harry, aged 38, and his wife Meghan, aged 42, were also traveling in the sister ship 82+01 and received a warm welcome from the city's mayor Stephan Keller, and the German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius. Approximately 100 enthusiastic fans had gathered in the historic city, eagerly awaiting his arrival. Prince Harry swiftly entered the City Hall, where he was to attend a reception.
The Invictus Games took place at Duesseldorf's Merkus Spiel Arena, and during the grand opening ceremony, Prince Harry was accompanied by Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius. It's worth noting that Prince Harry himself served in Afghanistan as an Apache helicopter co-pilot gunner during 2012-2013.
