US Says New Hostage Deal Proposed by Hamas is a “Breakthrough” | Firstpost America
The White House has described the latest Hamas ceasefire proposal for Gaza as a “breakthrough” establishing a framework for a possible hostage deal but warned that difficult negotiations remained over the implementation of the agreement. A senior US official said Secretary of State Antony Blinken received the latest Hamas offer “a couple of days ago” and had been studying it ahead of a 30-minute telephone call between President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. US officials had said an earlier Hamas response contained negotiable elements but some that were not. The White House's reaction to Hamas’s new response was much more positive, however, Netanyahu has raised his doubts on the deal despite sending a delegation to mediate the new deal with Qatar and Egypt.

What will fix it is a new Israeli government who will allow the self determination of the Palestinians. By so doing, those on both sides and in fact very few of them who don't want peace won't have anything to rely on to cause chaos. Current government is creating both enemies that are there and those that are not.

Why Hamas say "part" hostage numbers released as Phase I? When they want All Palestinian prisoners released as per Phase I? Can't understand witholding some hostages is fair. It's not. If Hamas want enhance cease fire they should be compliant to releasing All living with deceased, hostages Phas I, Once. How can Israel sustain its unity after October 7? Since the October 7 attack, we are not expressing hatred toward each other because our pain is much greater. But we are not far from how things were before October 7. We could return to that previous state in a matter of days. It is also important to note that our divisiveness throughout the year weakened us and strengthened those who wished to attack us. A captured Hamas terrorist who participated in the October 7 attacks stated how the ongoing protests and demonstrations in Israel encouraged Hamas during their preparations for the attack. When outside influences that pressure the formation of our unity move away, internal feelings of hatred resurface. We might believe that coming closer during tough times lets us develop while maintaining that closeness. However, this idea is incorrect. We need to undergo a reset and rebuild our unity from scratch, without external pressure dictating our actions but out of our own choice to live in a common connection to each other, with a spirit of unity, support, care, encouragement and closeness dwelling in our relations. When we are in a conflict of opinions, we need to equally respect those who we are against, acknowledging that they might also be right and have their own opinions, and that their opinions represent other people and citizens. Thus, we indeed should take heed to treat each other with more kindness. Unity means that we are ready to set aside our own opinions in order to unite with others.
