As a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant who served as a PJ. I walked among many who were true heroes who lived the MOTTO of we do these things that others may Live.
Wow...I watched in AWE of this rescue mission, it takes 100's of hours of training to accomplish this mission...I AM IMPRESSED....and you guys are special !!
Our men and women, in all fields of military, are unbelievable and do their jobs bravely and efficiently! Thank you! My husband is a Korea/Viet Nam Vet. Everyone of you are phenomenal!
As a teacher of military kids, I feel so proud to know personally how important my “parents” job is and that I can contribute by teaching their children! Thank you for your sacrifice and that of your families to ensure our freedom!!
I've read about and watched many telling of this incredble rescue mission. There was no room for error and so, none were made. So deeply grateful for all of our military but esp for these elite special troops. 🇺🇲
@@Bunny-ur8fd nothing.... just that they never left the helicopter...the rangers walked him to the chopper...he opened the door himself and got in.... who knows maybe they told him to strap in.
Having worked at Depot on the MH-53J PAVELOWS and AFSOC C-130's, I made sure I gave at least 110% on what I was working on knowing that guys who flew on these aircraft were counting on me to do the job right so that they ALL would come home to their Families and Friends. The best thing that happened to me was when I met a PAVELOW Pilot who shook my hand and said "Thank You" for giving us the BEST helicopter you gave us. I am "Retired" now, but should the time comes and if asked to do it again, "Give me some Tools, a Job Guide, and LET'S GET TO WORK"... PAVELOW LEADS, SO OTHERS MAY LIVE...
48:28 “we rescue guys, we always want to bring them back…” we salute 🫡 you for your service! We’ve heard from Ukraine that russians leave so many soldiers to die there, what a difference…
Let's not forget the Army Rangers and Delta who had already arrived, fought, located the Seal, brought him out, while staying behind to retrieve bodies and clean up the mess.
We're not measuring dicks here. We're not telling the story of people who "don't exist". Take it for what it is, and appreciate the bravery and heroism of the people that work regular jobs, but are available at a moments notice to do the unimaginable, that even they didn't think they could do.
@@SmokeNGunsBBQ i'm not sure what you mean but this guy's helicopter rescue skills are gonna be in high demand when shit hits the fan. Civil unrest is looming. Economic collapse, ww3. The list goes on.
Really , how so ? If you happen to answer... you say POLICY ? That's a formal doctrine , written into our margins of behavior. So... what policies and where are they enshrined ? How have they been reducing our efficacy ? Some specific examples . Thanx ....
I was the UH-60 flight simulator instructor at Ft Lewis when this unit started to transition to the Black /Pave Hawk. Interesting crew training with the flight engineer reading procedures for normal and emergency training. I often wondered what happened to them besides doing toboggan runs on Mt Hood. Message requested.
I remember reading about the PJs riding a jungle penetrator to a wounded fighter on the ground in the AF Times around ‘67 -‘68. Mad respect for PJs and the Pave low/hawk crews that do the CSAR mission.
Only thing sucks about this amazing recuse is how long it took the afghan man that saved Markus to get help escaping Afghanistan after risking his life for a complete stranger
Because the man knew the truth and told marcus that he would tell the truth that marcus ran away and left his team. He even said he put his rifle down and plugged his ears, he had 10 full mags of ammo, he left his buddies to die.
@@jamesholcombe435let's say you are correct..what difference would it make if he told that story? None he and his brother had a bounty on their head. So they were being hunted whether they told that story or not it would not change the fact they were being hunted by taliban
I grew up with spanky’s oldest son I knew he was a helicopter pilot but never heard this story now I’m 30 watching this going man what a silent bad ass this dude was
Generally, I can't think of any service member, from any branch, that would hesitate receiving assistance from USAF PJ's. They receive the best training from multiple branches, including HALO jumps, Seal dive training, etc. The various branches, especially within SOCOM, successfully work together every day. My US Army, instruments instructor pilot was a retired USAF, MH53 Pave Low pilot specializing in Seal incursions and extractions. It's been my service experience that the inter-branch rivalry narrative is portrayed way bigger than it really is. Sure, there is always some but, the reality isn't like a bar scene in an old WW2 movie.
SMUs love when they have anyone from the The 24th STS is involved, which are only Tier 1 units,Typically, only members of a special missions unit such as DEVGRU, 1st SFOD-D, and 24th STS are considered Tier 1. the USAF have 4 tier 1 operators...
@@orlandoabreus2596I don't remember his name at the moment but yes & he is a legendary pilot in the 160th. I believe he still teaches @ westpoint but I could be totally wrong on that. What an amazing feat-go become & serve as a SEAL-then with your Trident on become a 160th Nightstalker pilot-still with your trident on 😂 Always flying SEALS around, the SEALS were probably like shit this bad ass flying this black suped up bird is a SEAL too?!? 🫡💪
Had the privilege to work on HH-60 Pavehawk. Seen one bird take an RPG to the transition area. Got to work on Snoball, the HH-60 that rolled down a snow mountain during a rescue operation. Its main rotor blades made contact with the snowy mountain, then refueling probe. Another HH-60 came in for a 600hr inspection. Picked up the floorboards, you could see the blood-soaked cabin frame. Knew someone had a really bad day. Also worked on UH-60 Blackhawk, n-model huey, AH-64 Apache, and OH-58 kiowa. Thank you to all American service members, past, future, and present for yalls sacrifices
American soldiers protecting liberty across this entire planet can be described in one word, Guardian Angels in human form. Thank you God most high. Thank you America.
My father was a PJ, a long time ago though. He volunteered for it and off to Vietnam he went after training. He wanted to choose a job instead of being drafted to infantry etc. He has some incredible stories from his time in Vietnam, and served for 16 more years afterwards until retirement, and yes, he has the jolly green giant footprint tattoo on his ass 😂
@@joshualinklater4073 It's a tradition alot of the guys do. When they get it depends, some go get it soon after finishing the pipeline, others go get it after their first rescue mission/deployment
This story is a bit off it was Army Rangers who found LIttrell, then they called in SAR (Operation Redwings), it was also the Rangers who found the bodies
@@Fribbzz Yes...the air side was a helo who had two PJ's, land after the Rangers secured the area after an hour, and the guy climbed in and took off. The PJ's didn't rescue him, or even get out of the helo......
Wow! What an impressive video, and story of these brave men and women who serve their country and pay the ultimate sacrifice. This was a beautifully told story of each man involved in the fight, and in the brave soldiers who ultimately rescued them and returned them to their families.
I praise these men and women every chance i get, it takes a unique kind of person with courage to put there lives before there country and the free people that live in our free country THANK YOU SOLDIERS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! YOU GUYS DESERVE SO MUCH MORE THEN U GET,ESPECIALLY OUR HURT TROOPS THAT NEED DAILY ATTENTION FOR THERE INJURIES! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
We are praying for you and Israel… We appreciate your reporting and we know the truth too… You have our prayers and support in the United States brother…. God Bless
THANK YOU ALL OF YOUR SERVICE. RIP TO THE FALLEN MEN. THANK YOU THIS VIDEO IS GOOD TO KNOW WHAT YOU ALL DO ON A MISSION. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. GOD BLESS
I salute you dear American soldiers the Navy Seals who perished doing their duty and the rescuers for tisking your lives getting the bodies home.God bless you all.
It took 10 days to find 1 team member's body. It apparently looked as if he had only been dead for a day. It makes you wonder about the lone survivor. These pilots, rangers and delta are the heroes.
The highest respects to all on this mission first off. “Spanky” sir as a helo guy, I can only imagine holding hover in a brown out in the tightest critical pinnacle terrain scenario, not to mention the drop off and the responsibility of it all in your hands, brother you get the “flying cross”!!! Hovering blind is difficult enough, but the (mission) weight of coming all that way, and dealing with that LZ and making it happen! Well done Sir, well done!! 😎🙏🏼🙏🏼🤙🏽
They should make another movie rescuing Marcus Luttrell seems like a movie by itself I’m sure that would help the family of all of Marcus‘ teaments help all the family’s of the fallen 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🗽🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🗽🗽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Marcus Lutrell (the lone survivor)is the REAL deal "operation red wings"as told by him,is much more detailed and accurate in interview on (Shawn Ryan Show, also retired Seal)..his twin brother Morgan is Texas Congressman... his service dog 'daisy' was shot and killed by some twisted guys (They had shot multiple other dogs before Daisy)in the middle of the night,he LITERALLY chased them down, all while on a call with 911 dispatch, the audio recording is definitely worth listening to,he talks about it on Joe Rogan..
You are all on the same team and should act accordingly. Have each other’s backs. Ego should get left at home❤ Stay safe and make it back home. You all are amazing ❤🇺🇸
Huge credit to these rescue teams. And I also wondered about the Rangers who came in on the ground, found the seals and held off the Taliban while the recovery happened. That's an amazing achievement, worth hearing about.
Marcus Latrell your one bad @ss Navy Seal, sorry about your brodas, Murphy and the rest are proud of you, God still has a plan for your life down here. Thank you for your services & sacrifices… 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
When AfghanistanAmerica thing is mentioned I get memories of the four commandos who had a bloody contact with mountain tigers goons deep in the unforgiving terrain of Afghanistan but one survived. These stories reminds many out here how situation can change from good 2 ugly in a fraction of a second...in a millisecond that is. Would like 2 be an Apache crew these eagles are baddest they stood and overcame the taliban fire.
