The detail description is for the people who also went through the administrative process for their B1/B2 US visitor visa case. My parents applied for US visitor visa on Nov 03rd 2022 from Ottawa consulate, their interview went smooth and officer approved the visa. We were then instructed to collect the passport whenever we got the email. On nov 07 we did received my mothers passport back with the visa on it but didn’t received it for my father. At that time my father online status was showing Approved and it remained the same till nov 14th. During this time we didn’t heard anything regarding his passport. On Nov 15th the CEAC case status changed from approved to refused and that was the time of getting panic for me. Upon getting information online and from some of the my friends i was able to understand that refused does not means that my father is denied for Visa but the case is under administrative process (AP). Then on Nov 24th almost 10 days pass by the CEAC status changed from Refused to Approved and then the very next day it again changed from Approved to Issued. Finally after those stressful 25 days we received my father’s passport back with the visa on it. During these 25 days they kept my father’s passport with them and upon emailing them we were receiving auto generated reply and nothing else. After the interview the visa officer did said approved for the visa else we were not handed over any kind of form or slips. To advice those who are also getting stressful seeing their CEAC status change from approved to refused that it is actually under administrative process and not a denied case unless the officer on interview day said that you are denied for the visa and returned your passport. When ever the case is under such process they stop showing it as “Administrative Process” just says “Refused” on CEAC. During this status changed cycle if your passport is with them then you don’t have to worry about it let them complete the process and your visa will be issued. FYI there is a chances that they might returned your passport back and again asked for it once the process is complete to issue the visa so keep your hopes alive and lord will make things easy for everyone. I went to my spousal immigrant visa interview recently, and i was put on AP and no additional documents was requested. On the 21 of June 2023 I was re-scheduled for another appointment this time, with my wife over in her Country on the phone. We both answered the questions as truthful as we know. At the end the Officer said they’ll get back to us on a Mail, please how long would this take?
What would happen when they have asked you to update your ds-260 form and after done so, it still shows " visa refusal" and the recent date updated and then in the embassy website shows " IV COMPLETE AND AFFIDAVIT COMPLETE AND U.S. IMMIGRANT VISA IS AT THE CONSULATE?? PERHAPS DOES IT MEAN THAT IT IS STILL PENDING TO BE APPROVED??
Hello my friend went for Immigrants interview in February 2020 consular requested extra doc which she submitted then the covid-19 lockdown stated in the process her medical got expired she got a call to get a new one done which she did and was ready 11th November 2020 and now her case was last updated November 10 2020 now it says refused any help

My husband had his interview March 9th 2023 and he was approved at the interview and they took his passport. He was refused on March 15th 2023 and it took 3 months and his visa was issued to him in June of 2023....hope this helps someone and best of luck❤

I have appeared for my interview on March 2nd, they gave me 221g white paper and took my client letter for verification. My client received mail from them asking few questions and they replied back on March 16, still I didn't get info abt my approval or refusal. Is it under hold?
IR1-IR2 Visa here and we're still waiting for our passports with Visa and our status is the same as you've mentioned from administrative processing to refused and we don't have 221g and so far no emails or letters from all the offices, so we're just positive that the Visa will arrive soon its the third week now from the interview approval, we will be back for the update.
@@thilensherpa2118 W finally did receive our Visa Last April 17 from the issued date of April 7. if you haven't get your Visa after 3 weeks you can finally email the Embassy where your interview happened for updates. there's a draft email on my channel it might help. Good luck!

Day before yesterday I had my interview for J-1 visa. The interview went well and the Consular has signed my DS-2019 form and taken the passport. Also, I didn't receive any slip during the interview. In fact at the end of the interview, the Consular told, "Have a good time in U.S". But the visa status is showing as REFUSED. What does this mean? Any idea? Please let me know.

Please I was given 214b letter. But my passport was not given back to me. I still see on my CGI portal that "your passport is still with us at the embassy. What do I do in this case?
My mom had her interview June 29th . ( Cairo/Egypt) . Everything went well and they told her congratulations 🎊 you will recieve your passport in 3 weeks. In 4 days she received her passport back with yellow paper checked on ( Passport, and Administrative processing) and some other papers with Same questions been asked in the interview !! As the case status showing ( Refused) . Even if we answer the questions by email . How we will get the visa. We have the passport ! We are so confused

Hi, I applied us b1/b2 visa in 2018 which was approved first and then goes into administrative processing and I asked them to return my passport for travel and never send back because they hold it for 4 months . But administrative processing change to real refused in 2020. How can I know the exact date of refusal because they send my passport back in 2018 till than until 2020 under was administrative processing . Applied for visa via dropbox for myself, wife and 3 kids. My last child who is only 5yrs actually had a valid which expires in 4-months. Rest of the family had expired visas of 10-months. I was the primary applicant and indicated i will paying for all costs associated with travel. Just checked CEAC. My status says REFUSED. That of my wife and 2 of my children says ISSUED. The 5 year old has a status that says ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING. A bit confused. Thinking if they were not comfortable with me they would not issue to all of us. And why does a 5yr old have administrative processing status when her older brothers and mother have issued visas. We have all travelled to the US together in the past without any overstays, criminal record etc. I work at the same institution as last previous physical interview and probably more senior now. I haven't received any communication via mail yet as the status on CEAC only updated yesterday. Any thoughts?

1:04 my visa interview completed and received 221g form and said that my visa is under the administration process. Asked me to submit a new i20 with a new class start date. After one month i received mail that my passport is ready to pickup and status shows rejected.. Can you please help in this
Hello Fred wahl, I'm from Saudi Arabia my visa has been refused last year 13jan was my interview and after 11 months USIC usa nbc they mailed my husband to send more evidence within 30 days, we did and they update on their website that they received they start work in it, but 14 jan the Saudi usa nbc they sent email that my visa canceled and we didn't sent any evidence i just want to know is this email from system automatically because it's been one year or it's true? @@NiceguyEddie2828 Yes. I was approved at the interview and the officer kept the passport. After a few hours I received an email with a few questions. I answered them on the same day and my status changed to Adm. processing and then refused. It's been 18 days. It's a J-1

Hi Thank you for video , in mycase they initially given 221(g) with refused . Later it has moved to Refused》administrative processing in addition to that told us to post passports. Here is confusing point , once consulate receiving passport I randomly checked status it has appeared and changed from Administrative processing 》refused . What should I expect now ? Then they asked me to submit passport back to consulate. status in beginning, Refused to AP and now in Refused. Passport is with consulate. I have given the interview for j1 bt the consulate officer doesn't provide with any letter and return my passport back and closed his sentence as to wait for an update.... My status is saying that the consulate officer has adjudicated and refused the visa application
Hi, came for vacation on march 9.got drop box scheduled on march 13, for visa stamping @ US embassy. H1b and 3 dependents passport was dropped at cochin vac. Until may 10 ceac no status then 11 may changes to application received and finally on 12 it changed to refused. Too much worried v r payin for appartment, utilities, loan. For H4 first time stamping, they took passport and said visa has been approved. It moved to refused after that. How to know if it has been refused or is moving to administrative processing?

@@ashfaqmohammed7360 check your visa status, my interview was on this Thursday, the visa officer dint tell anything he told drop the passport in the box and take green slip and go, checked my status yest, it changed from AP to Issued.

My Visa status was changed to 'Administrative processing' after 3 days and ISSUED on the 4th day. Do not worry its Visa officer said your visa is approved, your status will change in 4 days. All The Best..
My mom's visa was refused during Dropbox in April 2022. It still says refused. No slip was given. When the consulate was contacted, they said it's under final processing. This was in June. No update since then. Any ideas on what may be going on or what we need to do next?

My father had a drop off for B1/B2 visa. So in his case, he hasn't spoken to a consular office and so does not know is his 221g is for admin processing or something else. Any inputs?

My case was previously in Administrative Processing, due to this change it displayed "Refused". On 1st of April 2020 my CEAC status changed to "Issued", but due to embassies closure I did not receive my passports along with the visa. Now on July 17th 2020 again my case shows refused. After more than three months from being issued.

Hi, thanks for the video. My interview was a year ago and they kept my passport. Now I find my status REFUSED ....which was earlier Administrative Processing.....and now showing the long one para of texts for admin processing. But received an email 3 days ago to collect my passport from the collection point. But still the online status is REFUSED and the texts below are for those long one para regarding admin processing!! Cannot collect the passport due to COVID19 issue now. Just guessing....what happened to the visa. Any idea?
Don't worry, the online status can be misleading. Until you see the passport, you cannot say the status, if it issued or you need to submit anything. Try to call them or email them,.
for L1B, in Saudi Arabia with approved I-797B petition, in the interview consular office took my passport and then sent me an email asking for some additional documents. I submitted in the same day. I couldn't attend the Immigrant visa interview in Bombay due the travel restriction. It was on march 2020.we are living in Ireland and we requsted to transfer the interview to Ireland we made phone calls email and by post. I submitted my application through the interview waiver program on Aug 11 and now the visa status is showing refused. But I haven’t received any email from the consulate. Does this mean that my application was rejected or put on administrative processing? According to the visa status check website, my case was made and updated on Aug 12 and no update after that
I was called back for an interview at the consulate. My visa was approved after that. Don’t panic if you’re in the same boat you’ll get a call back from the consulate for further action.
Even after the 2 weeks of the interview the status still shows ready. After the interview consular said visa approved no further action needed. Bt why my status is still ready??

Hi. I have a pretty weird question for you... so, our embassy in Moscow is actually closed right now, but I’ve joined the lawsuit and it forced them to ask NVC to send my case to the embassy. They received it, everything was fine, the status switched to “ready”, they also told me that they are going to schedule my interview in January. Today it was changed to “refused”, but the description below was long, like on the first screenshot that you showed. I emailed them, but I assume that they are not going to be helpful, like usual. Any advice? :(
