mcdonalds double cheeseburger is the only one that's actually reasonable price to taste. The rest are mainly too expensive for not as much value.. Single cheeseburger is too much bread and blandness. Double all the way.

I never get more than a single burger if I go for a hamburger or cheeseburger any more than one patty and I can't eat it without starting to feel sick. I NEVER order it with tomatoes, pickles or lettuce. Lettuce is just food for rabbit if you don't put salad dressing on it. Tomatoes are just plain nasty and dill pickles make me gag so bad. However I do love the Big Mac without the pickles but because it has more than one burger patty on it I can never eat the whole thing without feeling sick. Why do people like Mayo on their burgers?! 🤢🤮

You may be getting more "value" by getting more grams per buck buying multiple cheaper burgers vs. buying a more expensive burger -- but you're probably eating more bread, which is less value. If you're looking for straight mass and getting full, then yea, buy the cheaper burgers

Again with the ridiculous assertion that there's not a triple cheeseburger at McDonald's in the US. There absolutely is and it's on the official menu. Also you're using incorrect pricing from your delivery service. Research is atrocious.

The cost per 100g does indeed increase as you get bigger burgers, but your metric is flawed - 3 small burgers may be heavier and cost the same as 1 larger burger, but so much of that burger is bread. You should be weighing the patties.

Tough to take the Five Guys criticism seriously when you pretend you've never bitten a burger before when you tried that one. Didn't even touch the top bun. Took a bite like a mouse, but bit every other burger normally.

Admittedly I've not had burgers from everywhere or even every chain in the UK. The best burger I've had was from a pub (The Old Plough) in Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey it was in 2014 and at the time burger chips was £10.50 or around that price might have been £11.50 🤔 but it was yummmmmmmmy. with posh cheese and sauces, not sure what type of beef (normal. Aberdeen Angus, etc) was used. Had a suspicion that it was high priced place because the area looked rich and near it was Chelsea FC's training grounds (not reason why I was there) When I have the cash and the want for a burger I would rather get a burger from a Kebab shop or chip shop than a major chain, but I do prefer BK over Maccy D's, Five Guys is ok but seem to small for the price but with them it's about their Cajun Fries. Been to the Gourmet burger kitchen in my local town centre and was not impressed, like five guys was a small looking burger for the price and the bacon I got on it was wayyyyyyyy overdone. remembering it looked more like charcoal than bacon.

In my last year as a student in Nottingham (UK) I lived in a suburb called Beeston where McDonalds were handing out 2 for 1 vouchers for Quarter Pounder with Cheese on the street. I always took them when offered, so I amassed about 70-80 vouchers. A friend came to visit, and we decided to see what we could do with them. TLDR, in one day we used 32 vouchers (64 burgers' worth), starting at 11:30am and finishing at ~4:30pm, with a couple of hours off when we were full and had to go and have a couple of pints to wash the meat down.... I can still remember the next-day effects of eating 32 Quarters with cheese! I also remember the astonished faces behind the counter as we kept going back for another 4-6 burgers at a time. But they were, and still are, delicious for a cheap burger, and very good value even without the vouchers!

The smaller burgers when I used to buy MC donalds were much better value, both per 100g and how many calories you get per £1. I used to get a chicken mayo and put it in a double cheese burger. Tasty and cheap, I think it cost £2 maybe £2.50 when I was buying them.

The best cheeseburger is the one from your local smash burger place. They're there, trust me, and they're awesome.

The issue with Five Guys is that is doesn’t travel well. Plus they wrap it in an unbreathable foil. Moist is the word. My family swears by it but they often eat in restaurant whereas I Uber Eats it.

American cheese is superior more for its creaminess as it melts and the textures and flavors that caress your pallet.

You can buy a McDonald’s triple cheeseburger in the us. Maybe it’s regional but I’ve been able to buy it off the menu in the Southeast US.

The reason Abderdeen Angus became the premier beef was during the BSE crisis 30 years ago in Britain it was found the Aberdeen Angus variety cows were naturally immune to the disease so it became more sought after than meat from other cow varieties and attracted a higher retail price, and then that reputation as a premium meat persisted. That Aberdeen Angus premium perception seems to have recently spread to the US and I am not sure why, whether its they saw it was attracting a premium in Britain and just copied jumping on the Wagyu bandwagon, or some marketing campaign.

I haven't been to McDonald's in a while but I 100% have ordered a triple cheeseburger at McDonald's here in the US before through the app.

The pure breed Aberdeen Angus cow is actually listed as at risk, so when something is labelled as such, it comes from a mixed breed and is not 100% Aberdeen Angus.

(UK) If you get the single hamburger from five guys these days it's £1 more than a whopper and the meat quality and toppings more than make the difference. Both are aingle patty and don't have cheese. On that basis I really don't get the five guys hate - burgers are comparable. When you get to chips and drinks - that's when the value call is on you, drinks have free refills, they sell beer in the UK (no free refills) and the chips are very good - a small is entirely adequate.

McDonalds totally ruined their burgers with the new recipe buns. The Bigmac is so sweet now tastes like mango or something.

You can grab a burger with a side for under a tenner at Honest Burger which really makes some of the more expensive options seem rather questionable.

One key note is that the McDonalds big Mac has three buns halves and a pile of lettuce contributing to the weight. If you look a the American version at the end of the video you can't even see the beef patties. So I think the numbers are a bit skewed because of that.

It might have been interesting to do a best value per number and quality of ingredients too. Especially if you put nutritional rating in there. Perhaps even a safety index metric would also be good. How long does the cheaper vs mid range vs top keep you going energy wise and how long before you are hungry again?

Here in Illinois the Big Mac is $5.19 plus tax. I wish it was $2.94.
