Might see a reduction in some services ... terrestrial local FM stations, say, but cost of BBC might be by voluntary subscription, or, involuntary subscription via general taxation. That way the BBC becomes a truly national asset and everyone pays whether they want to or not. Not everyone listens to World Service but they pay anyway. Prior to the World Service costs coming out of the Licence Fee the cost was met by a "Commonwealth and Treasury" grant which in turn came out of general taxation. Nobody likes to pay VAT but they have no choice sort of thing. One thing is certain "everyone" will pay the cost of running the BBC somehow. Allowing people to opt in or out of paying the TV licence is not too useful for long term financial planning. So your silly bleating about defunding the BBC is pointless. Suggest you start living in the real world from now on.

The obvious delay in retaliation is clearly because iran and the US have been chatting about the level of strike, just as they did last time. The reason for a carrier being moved into the area is because the last one pushed the iron dome to its limits and required outside help from US & UK airforce. @GretsGarbo and that could be fantastic but just not for now specially as nations could make there own renewable resources and the old companies from oil don't take over investment in them companies for each nation that's what needs to be avoided or if they are doing it people need to know what to invest in now. Iran has the right to defend itself, yes, just like any other country does. But Iran does not have a rich dad like Israel does, the war will go very poorly for Iran and genuinely should not be in its best interest to pursue. People ask what would USA do if there was a similar attack on it's soil, USA would do whatever it wants because it can - it is the USA. The BBC recently produced a lie of a story, the Headline saying "People thrown out of a pub for singing in Welsh". The article stated that they were asked to leave because they were too loud, not because they were singing in Welsh but the BBC published the headline anyway.
