I joined with 0 stripes, left with 2 hahahahahhaha. No worries, I still got out, finished a degree, and contracted in the middle east with the Army. Life after the AF isn't bad at all.

I still remember basic like if it was yesterday. Tech school went by fast too now I'm in South Korea.

@diversepremades thank you:) For the coin ceremony and graduation days the MTI chooses what you wear. Most of them choose pants for the females. However, on saturday and sunday when you are on base lib and town pass with your family you get to choose. You will learn all of the different uniform combinations you are allowed to put together. Personaly I like the skirt way more than the pants, plus it was so hot the skirt was cooler to wear.

It was the Rainforest Cafe...the food was great. But ANYTHING would have tasted great at that point. That was only like, my 3rd meal out of basic :)

Everyone gets AT LEAST two ribbons when you graduate, some get four. I graduated A1C from basic, and SrA right after tech because of my degree...I think if you have something like 60 + credits you earn those ranks.

@chelsiao hahaha! Those were both my brothers. The one with his pants pulled up was my younger brother. He's ALWAYS acting like that! It was never boring growing up with him around :)

i was at BMT about the same time as you and i was also laundry chief! i hope your experience was as good as mine was! Congrats!

@quishia you put your laundry mark on it. It's your first and last initials folllowed by the last four of your ssn. The best system we found that worked is having EVERYBODY ineach bay grab 5 or more peices of clothing and hand them out to people. What wew did was make a list of bed numbers and whos laundry mark belonged to that bed number, then everyone just handed out the laundry to the correct bed number. Being laundry cheif was the WORST job to have there--avoid it at all costs!

i couldn't tell but did you guys try to run through that tunnel/light thing haha my friend and i did and i almost flipped over the rail hahaha that thing is awesome

@ChrisWithACam it was what I expected...but watching other people do it and just thinking about it is waaaaay different then actually being there and DOING it. It sucked, no doubt. But I'm glad I did it---though I can't say I'd do it again!

Graduated post COVID-19 pandemic, never got to see my family for graduation, currently still at tech school and have not gotten to go off base and see SanAntonio :( (My tech is at Lackland 6c031 contracting gang) I’m awaiting orders to Alaska tho so I guess that’s cool

You guys didn't just sort them into piles in the day room? We would pick the last digit of each laundry mark and put them in 0-9 pikes and have everyone come collect them. Worked perfect.

What was the worst training and what was the hardest, and the most fun one. Plus give your dad a high five for me for staying on that chair electronics all the way to full! P.s. welcome back to the scene

@Billyjrusaf When my brother graduated he paid for everything in San Antonio so yes, you have your bank cards by that time. It has been about 2 years since he graduated, but I don't see why that would change. :)

Congrats on making it through, we spoke a few times awhile before you entered and I was answering questions for you. glad to see you made it, just those hospital corners needs more edging to them and those laundry rooms a SUPER upgraded since I went through for sure. We had the regular sized machines and had to wait crazy amounts of times to get through. Did you have to stand out them in the AM while a TI yelled folding instructions at you? And what AFSC did you choose?

@unc1293 So far so good :) As a trainee we're all in trainee status--but I got stripes graduation day. So yeah, I started out as an E3 and got paid E3 pay grade throughout basic. This depends on the amount of college credits you have. I have a B.A. degree, if you have less than, I think it's 60something credits you can be an E2. I'm not sure what the exact amount of credits needed is. Hope that helps! Good luck to you!

Honestly it dosn't happen as often as she makes it sound just because her flight like 8 or 9 girls. My flight only lost people because they got sick and they're training was delayed. We didn't lose anyone. Normally its pretty damn hard to just not make it through BMT and get kicked out of the military. You've gotta do something illegal.

With the laundry issue how did that work far as keeping clothes to people who they belonged to? Did they label there clothes or what? Thank you in advance

What determines whether you wear the pants or a skirt? Can you wear a skirt to graduation? Dress pants are so uncomfortable xD

ASVAB was fucking hard...I got the computer version which was supposedly "easier" than the practice one but it was WAAAAYY harder. Why the fuck did I get the hard version? It's bullshit. At least I got an 80.... but still, I wanted at least a 90.
