@@dullie2x229 he is already watching such a classic. I would say naruto if he hasn’t already! Also I love your content. I am a junior in high school hoping to be accepted to USAFA. I really want to be a pilot for the airforce and I am trying to get my privat pilot’s license right now. Your advice and knowledge about the application process and what they look for in candidates is really helpful!!!
i’m a junior in high school. only recently have i discovered USAFA and i started training my body in late november of last year. from the start of this month i’ve been working on my running since running has always been tough for me, and i can only run 1/2 mile at the moment. before january i worked on building up my endurance and muscle in my legs, and thankfully it’s been working well for me. pull ups and push ups are my weakest points, do you have any recommendations on how to build upper body strength more efficiently? thank you for this video, there was a lot of really helpful incite into the application process.
For push-ups, focus on good form so that you're not set off guard when the USAF expects perfect push-ups, and there isn't a cheat code on how to do more push-ups, just do push-ups everyday and work on your upper body at the gym
@@dullie2x229 as a high school student, if I get rejected my first time applying, what do you recommend for someone wanting to transfer over there later on after reapplying some years is it better to go to a public or private university and do ROTC at either or a military institute
@@edisonreyes6127 yea I ended up with 6 nominations, 2 to the Naval Academy, 2 to the Air Force Academy, 1 to West Point and 1 to Merchant Marine. Are you a junior rn looking to apply next year?
@@zionblack8829 yo what up man. Yea so you can get a nomination from a few different sources. The Vice President- which like no one gets. Congressman/Senators- I started the application process of getting like recommendations and transcript and all that stuff in August. And you turn everything in by September I believe, then interviews in like October, then nominations came out for me like end of November. Low key, it’s a lot of work and I happened to have my dad helping me but ik not every dad is gonna help or is too busy. Nominations are scaring to think about, like will I get one, but if you are an average or above average person, you can probably get one no problem. I got into the Merchant Marine academy but still waiting back on Air Force and navy:/
I just found out that USAFA existed about a week ago and I'm a senior in high school this year. The deadline is Dec 31, I need to take my SAT but the next date that is offered for this test is in March. Do you think they would still accept that?
Sorry for the late response but it was too late to apply. You can apply for the Class of 26'. You can take a year at a regular college to knock out a lot of freshman courses that you would take here at USAFA. You would be ahead of the pack.
My eyes suck I have -4 to -3.5 which is 20/400 should I even apply I can totally do the CFA the physical thing and I have all As in AP and housers classes I just don’t know how to get the congressional letter or if my eyesight it to bad
unfortunately, i don’t think you can join the air force legally blind which is at 20/200. however, talk to a recruiter about it and see of you can have anything done or a wavier.
@@jemmixon Damn this sucks because I was born with it and I can not do anything about it but I just can’t be a pilot for anyone else wondering it’s -/+8 to be disqualified
Did you have to do anything for the nominations or did you just request that. Like did you get in touch with a congressmen somehow and talk about your achievements?
I am in my freshman year of highschool, I am taking all honors classes except English which is just regular, it is because I wasn’t able to take Honors English I since of my schedule. I am taking Honors French III with Juniors in my class ( I am only freshman). I am also taking Honors Geometry, Honors Bio, Honors Concert Band w/ jazz, I am also taking AP Human Geography. I did XC in the fall on the JV team and gonna do Baseball in the Spring. Every summer I go to a summer camp in Maine called Leaders School. If I keep up with things like what I am doing, will I have a shot at getting in the USAFA? I am planning on taking all Honors classes for the next years of High School w/ AP French next year along with AP US History. I also plan on taking AP Physics and Calculus, along with Engineering and coding classes in my Junior and Senior years. So do you think I have a shot?
Thank you for this vid, im in 11th grade and really focused on going to this school. I only have 1 question. How does transport to the schook work since i live on the east coast. Do i need to get a plane ticket or will the academy provide a flight or something
I’m a sophomore in high school with a 4.5 GPA, taking honors math and science, in marching band, baseball, and about to join Civil Air Patrol. What are my chances and what should I do to help them?
@Mekelet Suraphel I have a friend who is introducing me to the group, I think most states still aren’t meeting in person but holding virtual meetings. They told me I technically can’t join the group while they are online but I attend the online meetings. I don’t know how you can contact them if they don’t answer emails and you don’t know anyone in the group, but good luck and keep me updated cuz I might be able to help later.
Yo, i just joined cap a few months ago, its honestly one of the most underrated programs out there. honestly, i'm 16 and I would do any thing to have joined when i was twelve. really great program, i can't state that enough.
okay so hopefully u or someone will see this but it’s like dec. 26 and the deadline is like the 31 💀 should i still try to apply? i just recently found out abt the academies and want to go. apparently the recommendations deadline is like jan 31 so ig there’s still time, but idk how long the process of getting a rec takes. I should prob just apply next year but i’d rather try to go all 4 years idk. thanks.
Would you consider USAFA to be accepting of lgbt people? I’m not straight, and I only realized that like two weeks ago and now I’m a little nervous about how accepting the colleges I’m applying to are.
I found this video explaining that depending on gender what you should get I'll link it:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MfNSrQ1OJ0I.html
Please if you can answer this question please do, I've really wanted to join USAFA since I heard about it and was wondering if schooling in a different country affect my chances of getting into it.
Sir am a sri Lankan I have green card next month I come usa 🇺🇸 I like to join us air force I have diploma in english and IELC certificate this is possible to join us air force reply me sir am waiting for your response
Will they look at my junior year a lot? My freshman year I got some C’s and currently have a gpa of 3.32. It will definitely go up through my junior year but how much will my 2 years affect my chances?
Get all a’s for your junior and senior. That simple. Also do extracurriculars. But you should be fine if you get all a’s for the next 2 years and do extracurriculars
Hey man, I’m a junior going into senior year this fall I passed through the pre candidate and am kind of lost on what to do after that, so I’m just wondering if I could dm you some questions for help. Appreciate it!
Damn I wish I could change my highschool GPA, is there any other way in join the Airforce Academy with a good 4.0 college transcript and good SAT score but not a highschool GPA?
@@Fukuro14 yeah but make sure you have a plan B too. Like pick a college that YOU want to go to and graduate if you don’t get in. For me I’m going to my local Rutgers University
@@electrowolf6260 initially, my plan was to transfer to a 4 year UC (Berkeley, Davis or Irvine) after my 2 years at community college. I've also been looking at the AFROTC program. I noticed you said "re-apply" did you not get in the first time?
