What blows me away is that two days ago we saw Noah Lyles win gold after running 9.83 and in this race, Asafa Powell won bronze after running 9.84.

Jamaicans should take a stand to support this man publicly and wholeheartedly, with a view to get back the money he ran his heart and sustenance for! He deserves justice!

Disappointed by the commentator slowly listing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd places when a WR was just destroyed. Thank god the second commentator comes to the rescue.

Two additional things I wish we got out of Bolt's career; more attempts at running close to sub 19s in the 200m and a full season attempt in an off-championship year like 2010 going after the 400 WR especially after running 30.97 in his sole attempt at the 300m which was the sea level WR at the time following MJ's 30.85 at altitude in Pretoria, SA in 2000!

I really love the passion with which Steve handled the commentary: the emotions alone... "...but this man, is poetry in motion ".

Being witness to all of this as a kid at the time I felt proud but didn’t understand the historical scope of it all. Now I look back, I get it. Jamaica and the track and field world have met up for years throughout generations of athletes and eras. It’s almost like the world meeting up once a year. To see your country on top at these events especially the Olympics that’s every 4 years it’s absolutely beautiful, because there was a time when track and field was all we had and the only thing that connects us, teach us about different flags and countries. Jamaica and the British empire was a tough place to grow up In for me in the 90s but we have such intriguing, intense and beautiful history and stories. Track and field made me love and appreciate the world and all the different people. It’s just unfortunate so many people cannot see how beautiful the human race is and how more beautiful it is watching and observing it throughout the decades.
