Nice video. Another alternative to the PS2 controller I found useful was getting a PS2 to PS3 adapter and plugging in my PS2 controller that way. I’m not sure if it required drivers or not, but it works surprisingly well. I think the adapter I have is put out by Pelican but I’m not 100% sure.

Good review! Just curious though: I seem to recall that the original PS2 controller had some pressure sensitive buttons (some games would detect how hard you pressed some of the buttons for different in game features) The best example I can come up with would be Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. I seem to recall that if you grappled an enemy soldier you could either hold the knife to their throat to interrogate them by pushing on the grapple button lightly, but if you pressed the grapple button hard you would slit their throat instead. (I remember hating that part of the control design because it was very easy to accidentally slit the throat instead of interrogating while playing) Would it be possible to test it out if you have the game for a PC emulator?

For emulating N64 games i can recommend Retro-bit Tribute 64 controllers, those are really well made, available both for USB and the oryginal console and have better layout than the oryginal N64 controller. Also, they're really cheap, how about reviewing theese ones?

I'd be interested to know whether the PS2 style controller has the pressure sensitive face buttons. This seems to be an often overlooked feature for these replica controllers, but it's pretty important when playing games like Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3.

I'm sceptical on that n64 controller. The stick is made in a very specific way in terms of sensitivity where games where you have to precise only work well with a good condition n64 controller. There's a reason why people said aiming in zelda feels horrible when emulating. It's cause they used modern sticks

You can still make use of those controllers if you buy a Titan 1 adapter. This device emulates any console controller and it will make knock off controllers like these to work on real consoles. Titan 1 has 2 methods to emulate controllers. Xmapper and Max Aim. If some how your not able to remap these controllers to modern game console controllers. You can use Max Aim to emulate "Direct Input" . Meaning you need the PC on at all times so the fake controller works on real hardware. I had my Titan 1 for a week and wish a had it along time ago. I wasn't aware of what this device was able to do. Xmapper doesn't require you to leave the PC on at all times. You just program the knock off controllers if you're able to. Once you program the controller you just stick the Titan 1 inside the game console with the knock off controller attached to it. The Max Aim ID method, you leave the controller plugged inside the PC at all times and the Titan 1 goes inside the game systems. The USB cord that comes with the Titan 1 stays connected inside the PC so the "passthrough" translation will work. Titan 1 adapter is best method to save money on controllers. If the xmapper method doesn't work to turn knock off controllers to real controllers. Method 2 will guarantee it to work, you just need to leave the PC on at all times with Max Aim ID program.

i play alot of emulators and having controllers that are specificly made for the emulator helps. im actually going to buy these because 1 i do not have a sega controler 2 64 emulation is better with the 64 controller . also its a plus to get a ps2 controller for ps2/ps1 emulation it helps cause im using a ps4 controller right now but it sucks cause it drifts and also the thumbsticks are damaged. thanks for the upload keep doing what your doing cause you are helping me with emulation help i love your content.

Your Xbox or Playstation controllers can work well with emulation of anything. N64 and Sega Saturn: We have a problem.

i bought the same pack you did, SNES remote totally stopped working, went to use the NES one and notice a damaged (burned and molten) plug. Also i rarely use them, so there is no reason for them not to work. THE PS2, GC, N64 work fine. about to see if the GENESIS one is still good

PS4 controller works for PC too...XBox controller is actually not the best for retro gaming due to the fact of where the d-pad is.

I find the knock off stuff quality suffers. just get a bliss-box adapter and the cables you want, to use the original controllers.

For emulatuon i recommend these controllers. 1. PS5 controller (with ds4 for windows software [newer version]) The PS5 controller blew me away. It actually improved my playthrough of super ghouls and ghosts for snes. Dpad feels like it is one piece and very responsive. Highly, highly recommend! 2. wii motion plus controller with dolphin bar for wii emulation. I honestly feel like this is all I need. I used to have a but ton of controllers, but after I got my ps5 controller I realized that I was set.
