This videographer was very on point! And made the correct shot angle! There are sometimes no good or rather better choices. You make the most of a lousy setup and get what you get. The Song Girls are my fave collegiate ensemble because of the choreography and the effort they make in their preparation.
The Song Girls were created as an auxiliary dance unit of the Trojan Marching Band. Most people think that they are “cheerleaders”, as SC didn’t have traditional cheerleaders until the past couple decades (they wear cardinal uniforms and do the traditional cheer stunts and movement/choreography). But to be clear…they are not cheerleaders in the conventional sense. The classic white sweater tops are the staple of the Song Girls that harken back to the “traditional” college football pageantry and excellence of the marching bands. The Song Girls provide customized dance routines to the TMB rock charts and will wear specialized thematic costumes during some halftime field shows. Think of the Song Girls in the same context of the dance teams with HBCU marching bands, just west coast style! ✌🏾
